Day 1: St Petersburg - Volga River
Welcome to Russia and the city of the Tsars! We will transfer you for boarding the river cruiser, your home for the next 10 nights.
Day 2: Volga River
This morning visit the opulent Winter Palace. Once the royal residence of the Tsars, the palace is now home to the Hermitage Museum, which has one of the biggest art collections on earth!
Day 3: Volga River
Today tour the stunning city of Tsars, with St Isaac’s Cathedral, St Savior Cathedral, Nevsky Prospect, Peter and Paul Fortress - home to the SS Peter and Paul Cathedral, housing the tombs of the Romanov monarchs.
Day 5: Volga River
Over the coming days, relax and enjoy life aboard, whilst you cruise along the Neva river, stopping for sightseeing at ancient Golden Ring towns and charming villages.
Day 6: Volga River
With a beautiful backdrop of rolling hills, rivers, forest and steppes, cruise beyond Lake Ladoga to picturesque Kizhi Island on Lake Onega. Here you can explore the open air museum, UNESCO protected churches and the fine arts museum.
Day 7: Volga River
The next port of call is Goritzy, where you’ll visit the Monastery of St Cyril on the White Lake - one of the oldest and most famous monasteries in Russia, dating back to the 14th century. The monastery is a home to the most exquisite icon collection in the world.
Day 8: Volga River
Continuing your journey, head to the favoured city of Ivan the Terrible, historical Uglich, where you enjoy a walking tour of the Kremlin and the cities most famous site - The Church of St. Dimitry on Blood. The church boasts a stunning red facade in contrast with star-studded, teal blue cupolas and the interior is just as delightful.
Day 9: Volga River
Soak up the beautiful riverside views as you approach the big smoke. This afternoon arrive into Moscow and enjoy a city tour visiting legendary Red Square, GUM Department Store and the observation platform of Sparrow Hill.
Day 10: Volga River
Take a guided tour of Moscow’s mighty Kremlin and Armour today. Not to be missed, and opposite the mighty Red Square is the golden domed Kremlin, Russia’s political powerhouse, where many infamous tyrants and dictators have conducted their business including Ivan the Terrible and Stalin.
Day 11: Volga River
Your tour finishes after breakfast and we bid you farewell today with a departure transfer to the airport.
