Day 1: Moscow

Welcome to Russia’s famed historical heartland! Airport arrival transfer, hotel check in and overnight.

Today enjoy a guided tour of Moscow’s most famous sites - in Red Square see the beautiful St. Basil’s Cathedral, with its wildly colourful turban shaped domes, wander around the historic GUM department store and if open. This afternoon explore the grounds of the mighty Kremlin - Russia’s powerhouse, visit its gold domed cathedrals, Ivan the Great Bell Tower and the Armoury. (driver and guide for 5 hours)

Day 3: Moscow

A day combining art in every sense! We explore the Tretyakov Gallery which houses the best examples of Russian art, from icons to modern art, including Soviet propaganda paintings. This afternoon, we take a ride on the underground, seeing the Moscow Metro stations, built during Stalin’s rule as “palaces for the people”. Lavish designs, with columns and chandeliers they truly are a sight to behold. (driver and guide for 5 hours)

Day 4: Moscow - St Petersburg

Today enjoy a free day to explore the city. Tonight we transfer you to the station for the sleeper train to St Petersburgh.

Day 5: St Petersburg

Welcome to St Pete's or stunning city of Tsars as it is known. Arrival transfer to your hotel. En Route enjoy a bit of city orientation drive so you have your bearings.

Day 6: St Petersburg

We start off with a visit to the Peter and Paul Fortress. Within the Peter and Paul Fortress compound is SS Peter and Paul Cathedral with its angel shaped weather vane perched on top of the razor thin needle. This afternoon we enjoy a guided visit to perhaps the best museum in the world, housed in a majestic building - the Hermitage. With only 10 % of the 3 million exhibits on show

Day 7: St Petersburg

Today we visit a summer palace of the Tsars, either Peterhof or Catherine Palace. Both stunningly beautiful buildings, the Peterhof boasts one of the largest fountains in the world, whilst Catherine Palace is home to the Amber Room, made from several tons of amber.

Day 8: St Petersburg

Today tour the stunning city of Tsars, with the whimsical Church on Spilled Blood, St Isaac’s Cathedral, St Savior Cathedral. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 9: St Petersburg - Yaroslavl

Today enjoy a free day to explore the city. Tonight you travel by sleeper train to Yaroslavl.

Day 10: Yaroslavl

Arrival transfer to your hotel. Today enjoy a free day to explore the city.
