Later, we enjoy a guided visit at the Hermitage - which houses one of the biggest and best art collections on earth.
Today is a free day and gives the opportunity to shop for souvenirs, maybe some wooden dolls or russian memorabilia found at the canal side market near the striking Church on Spilled Blood. Or take a walk along Nevsky Prospekt.

Today enjoy your city tour which takes in the new monastery that marks the site of the Romanov family’s execution in 1918 and Ganina Yama - a beautiful monastic complex built on the site where their bodies were discarded and later found. Morning arrival into Irkutsk, a town with the Asiatic influences of nearby Mongolia and China and curious architecture - a legacy of Siberia. Our driver awaits to transfer y9ou to the small village of Litsvinyanka, en route stopping for you to visit the Taltsy Open Air museum.
A return transfer to Irkutsk today and a city highlights tour. Later, a transfer to the station for the train destined for Ulaanbaatar. (DEP:-22:10 -- ARR:-06:30+2)

Morning arrival into Ulaan Baatar after crossing the Mongolian border during the very early hours. Our local driver and guide await to show you the sights of the city including the Gandan Hiid Monastery, Sukhebaatar square, Museum of Natural History. We then drive to Terelj National Park and visit the Chinggis Khaan Monument, Turtle Rock, the Aryabal monastery and real Nomadic families.

Today we tour the centre of Beijing, China's magnificent capital, including the massive Tiananmen Square and the sprawling Forbidden City. Boasting some 9999 rooms, the city within a city was once the sole preserve of the Chinese emperors. This afternoon we take a rickshaw ride through the Hutongs of Beijing, followed by a trip to Shichahai Lake which consists of 147 hectares and dates back to the Jin Dynasty. Around the lake there are ten famous Taoist and Buddhist temples and several formal royal mansions and gardens that you will explore.
Don some comfortable shoes as today you get the chance to walk a section of the famous Great Wall. Zig zagging some 6000km, ducking and weaving through mountain peaks and lush terrain, the Great Wall is one of those 'must-do experiences'.
This morning we head out to the Summer Palace, set in a park, two thirds of which is a lake. Built on the north of the lake, the palaces, theatre, bridges and marble boat make this a picturesque sight. We then visit the Olympic site - Bird's Nest and Water Cube.
Sadly your journey comes to an end, we will transfer you to the station in time for your flight home.
