Day 1: St Petersburg

Welcome to the city of the Tsars! Arrival transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: St Petersburg

Today we take you on a city walking tour that takes us to the main sights. See colourful Nevsky Prospekt, the main avenue of St Pete’s from which most main attractions can be easily reached. We will visit St Isaac's Cathedral, Peter and Paul's fortress and the Hermitage Museum.

Day 3: St Petersburg - Moscow

Free day to explore the city and surrounds. Most of the inner city sights are located on and just off the main thoroughfare Nevsky Prospekt, that stretches for around 4 km from near the Winter Palace Embankment to Alexander Nevsky Monastery, so St Pete's is good for walkers! Tonight - an included transfer to the rail station for overnight train to Moscow, which departs at 23:00

Day 4: Moscow

Arriving into Moscow station our local team are on hand to meet you and transfer you to the hotel. This afternoon we will take you on a walking tour. Moscow, the city that kept Bond busy for so long. Having been an endless source of espionage movies and books, the west's cold war nemesis and heart of communist Russia has plenty of sights to behold. From iconic Red Square, brightly coloured St Basil's Cathedral, the ritzy GUM department as well as Lenin still lying in state.

Day 5: Moscow

Free day.

Day 6: Moscow - Trans Siberian train

Enjoy the morning at your leisure to explore. Our driver will collect you and take you to the station to catch the 16:20 train number 016, destination Yekaterinburg.

Day 7: Trans Siberian train - Yekaterinburg

Enjoy the splendid scenery that you pass today as the train plies its route. Arriving into Yekaterinburg at 20:11 meet up with our local driver who will take you to your hotel (Hotel Centralniy)

Day 8: Yekaterinburg

Today your included city with our expert guide, takes in the new monastery that marks the site of the Romanov family’s execution in 1918 and Ganina Yama - a beautiful monastic complex built on the site where their bodies were discarded and later found. The tour also takes you to the Europe/Asia border where you can stand with a foot in each continent!

Day 9: Yekaterinburg - Trans Siberian train

This morning is free, to take in the sights of Yekaterinburg. We will transfer you to the train station for the 17:44 train number 002, destination Irkutsk.

Day 10: Trans Siberian train

Spend today settled into life aboard the Trans-Siberian Express as it winds its way east passing spectacular scenery.

Day 11: Trans Siberian train - Irkutsk

Late today you will arrive into Irkutsk where we will meet you and transfer you through to to Listvyanka (homestay).

Day 12: Irkutsk - Baikal Area

Spend today relaxing in the village of Listvyanka by beautiful Lake Baikal. (homestay)

Day 13: Baikal Area

We will transfer you back to Irkutsk today and check you into your homestay.

Day 14: Baikal Area - Trans Siberian train

Free day. We will transfer you to the train station in time to board the train at 22:10, train number 006, bound for Ulan Ude.

Day 15: Trans Siberian train - Ulan Ude

06:25 AM arrival into Ulan Ude and our local driver will be there to take you to your homestay. Thanks to its proximity to Mongolia and China, the indigenous people of the region, the Buryats, clung on to their Tibetan-Buddhist faith through the Communist era. Your guided city tour later today visits Ivolginsky Datsan - a centre of Buddhist culture and the open air Ethnographic Museum dedicated to the lives of local people and architecture through the ages.

Day 16: Ulan Ude - Trans Siberian train

After a leisurely morning your driver will return you to the station for the 13:45 train number 6 to Ulaan Bataar.

Day 17: Trans Siberian train - Terelj National Park

Morning 06:30 arrival into Ulaanbaatar after crossing the Mongolian border during the very early hours. Arriving here, our driver awaits to take you to Terelj National Park and your Ger Camp home for the night, stopping en route to visit a Nomadic Family and see the awesome Turtle Rock formation.

Day 18: Terelj National Park

Enjoy the day to explore the beautiful surrounds from your wilderness base.

Day 19: Terelj National Park - Ulaan Baatar

This morning we transfer you to your hotel in the city to enjoy free time to explore the pine-covered mountains, wide boulevards, vast public squares and parks that give the city a feeling of spaciousness. Overnight at the Hotel Namuun

Day 20: Ulaan Baatar - Trans Siberian train

Our local driver will ensure to have you at the station in time for 07:15 train number 24, destination Beijing China! Enjoy panoramic views of uninterrupted steppe, with the occasional nomad, camel and ger dotting the landscape. Continuing south the train enters the flat, dry and sparsely populated landscape of the Gobi desert before crossing the border into China.

Day 21: Trans Siberian train

The train pulls into Beijing, China’s bustling capital, in the afternoon, thus concludes your Trans Siberian adventure.
