Most of the inner city sights are located on and just off the main thoroughfare Nevsky Prospekt, that stretches for around 4 km from near the Winter Palace Embankment to Alexander Nevsky Monastery, so St Pete's is good for walkers! 06:25 AM arrival into Ulan Ude and our local driver will be there to take you to your homestay. Thanks to its proximity to Mongolia and China, the indigenous people of the region, the Buryats, clung on to their Tibetan-Buddhist faith through the Communist era. Your guided city tour later today visits Ivolginsky Datsan - a centre of Buddhist culture and the open air Ethnographic Museum dedicated to the lives of local people and architecture through the ages.
After a leisurely morning your driver will return you to the station for the 13:45 train number 6 to Ulaan Bataar.
Morning 06:30 arrival into Ulaanbaatar after crossing the Mongolian border during the very early hours. Arriving here, our driver awaits to take you to Terelj National Park and your Ger Camp home for the night, stopping en route to visit a Nomadic Family and see the awesome Turtle Rock formation.
