Bienvenidos a Peru! Welcome to Peru and the start of your journey through the land of the Incas. Upon arrival into Cuzco Airport you will be met by one of our representatives and transferred to your hotel.
Cuzco is home to some of the finest examples of Inca history and architecture, which you will discover touring the sights of the Plaza de Armas, the Catedral and the Koricancha complex – a supreme example of Inca stonework, on an afternoon scheduled group tour. Head out further afield to tour the Kenko Amphitheatre, the fortified hunting lodge of Puca Pucara, the stunning imperial baths of Tambo Machay and the megalithic fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
Explore the sacred valley area today on a full day group tour scheduled excursion. On the way to the ancient village of Urubamba stop to visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile centre where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Enjoy a spot of shopping and practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch. The day of touring concludes with a visit to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo then transfer to your Sacred Valley resort.
This morning a scenic train journey followed by a bus ride brings you to the legendary ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu on a group tour scheduled excursion. Set on a mountainous peak overlooking a deep canyon on the Urubamba River, the ancient Inca city is indeed one of South America’s most impressive sights. Be amazed by the incredibly well-preserved plazas, towers and temples as you enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu. After guided tour then free time in later afternoon to explore, head down to your hotel in the a short bus ride from the site.
Morning at leisure (re-entry ticket, bus & guide NOT included) - Later, we assist you onto the train for the journey back to Cuzco, onward transfer to your hotel.
Today we take you to the bus station and assist your embarkation of the tourist group bus service to Puno. Along the way, the bus makes a few interesting stops like the church of San Pedro Apostol de Andahuaylillas, Wiracocha temple, Sicuani and the Raya Pass which is at an altitude of 4335 M and often times laden with snow on the surrounding peaks. Arriving into Puno, our team await to transfer you to your hotel.
After breakfast board a yacht from Puno port for a shared cruise and tour around the floating islands of Uros. Inhabited by fishermen and hunters, these beautiful islands are made from totora reeds and were built in order to escape the imposition of invading cultures. Your cruise continues to to the neighbouring island of Taquile. The peasant community of this island has kept intact the customs and traditions of their ancestors and a visit here is like taking a step back in time. After lunch visit archaeological ruins and soak up the immensity of Lake Titicaca from the beautiful beaches that line Taquile’s shore. Later return to Puno.
Today we embark a catamaran for a full day cruising to explore the Sun & Moon Islands. Disembarking usually in Copacabana, as part of this service you then embark a bus and pass the border to Bolivia and continue onto La Paz.
Enjoy a half day tour of the city taking in the Mirador de Killy Killy for fantastic views over the city, and marvel at the geological formations of the Valley of the moon, 10km outside of town. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Today you fly to Rio in Brazil. Transfers are organized at both ends by our respective local teams.
Enjoy the next days at leisure. You'll soon find there is plenty to see and do. There are trips up Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car and Corcovado, with its famous Statue of Christ, for great city views. Another interesting journey is on the old tram system across the viaduct into the cobblestone neighbourhood of Santa Teresa. A walking tour of Rio's historic buildings is also a lovely way to pass an afternoon, or you may like to visit the Botanical Gardens or one of the famous beaches, such as Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon.
Morning transfer is arranged with our local driver to Rio Airport for your flight to Foz do Iguaçú Airport. Arriving here, our local team await to take you onto your hotel. Later you will join a scheduled group tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along catwalks that allow you to see the torrents of water at their most impressive.
Enjoy a scheduled group tour full day excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You’ll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power.
Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Manaus. Arriving here, the team from the Tropical Manaus Eco resort meet you and transfer you to the hotel.
This morning you will be transferred by Shuttle to the Amazon Eco Park, where you spend today and tomorrow at the Eco Park lodge with all activities into the jungle and meals being included and arranged by the resort team and will keep you busy all day.
The hotel team will bring you back to Manaus Airport for your flight to Sao Paulo. Arriving here, our driver awaits to take you to your hotel.
