Welcome to Peru and the start of your adventure with On the Go Tours. Upon your arrival at Lima's international airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in with the remainder of the day at leisure.
This morning fly to Puerto Maldonado, gateway to the Peruvian Amazon. A boat ride along the Madre de Dios River brings you to your jungle lodge where you will spend the next two nights in a beautiful cabaña.
A wide variety of excursions are on offer from guided walks through the jungle to twilight river cruises. Sail in small wooden canoes or test your vertigo on a canopy walkway. You will learn much about the Amazonian wildlife and its most colourful characters with excursions available to the Tambopata National Reserve, Gamitana Creek and the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve. As daylight wanes share your daily experience of life in the rainforest with your fellow guests with the captivating sounds of the jungle your soundtrack.
Bidding farewell to the jungle head back to Puerto Maldonado by boat for your flight to Cuzco. If there is time be sure to visit the Inkaterra Butterfly House located close to the airport. Peru boasts the greatest variety of butterflies in the world, many of which can be seen at the Butterfly House. Upon arrival in Cuzco you will be transferred to your hotel where the rest of the day is free.
Considered the archaeological capital of South America, Cuzco is home to some of the finest examples of Inca history and architecture, which you will discover touring the sights of the Plaza de Armas, the Catedral and the Koricancha complex – a supreme example of Inca stonework, on an afternoon scheduled tour. Head out further afield to tour the Kenko Amphitheatre, the fortified hunting lodge of Puca Pucara, the stunning imperial baths of Tambo Machay and the megalithic fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
Tracing a scenic course from Cuzco to Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley was greatly appreciated by the Incas due to its special geographical qualities and as such contains numerous archaeological remains. Explore the area today on a full day scheduled excursion. On the way to the ancient village of Urubamba stop to visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile centre where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to Pisac, a collection of the remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Enjoy a spot of shopping and practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch at Tunupa Restaurant. The day concludes with a visit to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.
Today further explore the Sacred Valley with visits to Andean villages south of the Río Urubamba. See the lovely paintings from the Cuzco School in the attractive colonial church of Chinchero. If your visit falls on a Sunday you’ll witness the hustle and bustle as merchants and farmers assemble at the local flea market to barter over buying and selling goods. Continue to Maras where the original Indian aristocratic coats of arms hang on the outside of the church and houses. From here you can also see the salt evaporation ponds, a patchwork of 3,000 wells that have been used since the Incan Empire. Continue to the spectacular agricultural terraces of Moray, a circular system believed to have been used for agricultural experimentation during the Inca period.
This morning we transfer you to the train station for a stunning Vistadome train journey to the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Sit back and enjoy the views as the landscape changes from the Andean highlands to the beginnings of the jungle. On arrival explore the citadel and the wonderful Temple of the Sun and magical Temple of the Moon on a three hour guided excursion. Other highlights include the fascinating Sacred Plaza and the elaborately carved Intihuatana rock.
The morning is free for you to revisit Machu Picchu if you wish (second entry ticket included) and explore at leisure. Or perhaps visit the local thermal hot springs for a relaxing dip.
After a leisurely morning we transfer you to the railway station for your Vistadome train back to Cuzco. Transfer to your hotel for check in.
This morning you will be transferred back to the railway station for your scenic Andean Explorer train to Puno. Riding the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a journey between mountains and clouds, mountains and highlands. It's a ten hour train journey, which ends at the majestic Lake Titicaca. The Andean Explorer is one the most of luxurious and different way of travel between Cuzco and Lake Titicaca with dining cars and a car-bar outdoor observatory. Arriving into Puno you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Today is a free day for you to choose from the activities offered by the Titilaka Hotel.
Departing Puno this morning we transfer you by road to the Colca region making a number of stops en route.
Today visit the village of Yanque to enjoy the typical dances of the region before continuing towards Cruz del Condor. Here you can observe the majestic flight of the Condor – the largest bird in the world - as it soars over the Colca Canyon. To best admire the canyon you will make a number of stops at various lookout points. The Colca Canyon is one of the world’s deepest and photo opportunities abound. Heading back to Chivay stop at the pre-Inca ruins of Uyo Uyo. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Chivay’s artisan shops and markets.
Today head towards Arequipa passing a number of traditional towns, natural lagoons, volcanic peaks and a national reserve along the way. This is a great place to see many species of birds and South American camelids in their natural habitat. Stop for an invigorating coca tea at Patahuasy and ascend to a pass 4800m above sea level before Arequipa where you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lima. Arrive Lima and transfer to your hotel.
This morning we transfer you to the airport for your flight to Iguazu Falls where upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in.
Straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil, the Iguazu Falls are composed of over 250 separate cascades. Today you will a tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along catwalks that allow you to see the torrents of water at their most impressive.
Today enjoy a full day excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You’ll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power.
Departing Iguazu this morning we transfer you to Posadas where you will board a 4x4 for the rest of your journey to Argentina's Iberá wetlands. Check in to your hotel with the remainder of the day at leisure.
Over the next two days enjoy the activities offered by the Rincon del Socorro Hotel including horse riding, bird watching, night safaris, fly-fishing and lagoon boat rides.
Departing by 4x4 this morning we head to the airport in Posadas for your flight to Buenos Aires where upon your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Often labelled the ‘Paris of South America’, Buenos Aires, or simply BA, is a seductive mix of elegant architecture, characterful residents and fantastic entertainment options. This morning enjoy a tour taking in the Neoclassical Metropolitan Cathedral, the unusual dusty pink Government House and the history-packed Plaza de Mayo. Head to the neighbourhood of San Telmo where street performers gather to display the sensuous dance of tango, and continue to La Boca, a colourful suburb popular with local artists. Wander the attractive streets of Palermo until you reach Recoleta and the famous cemetery of the same name. Later this evening enjoy a Dinner Tango Show at Café de los Angelitos.

Transfer to the airport this morning for your flight to Mendoza where on your arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
With striking snow-capped peaks visible on the horizon and an alluring combination of top-class dining and vibrant nightlife, Mendoza is the perfect place to base yourself for trips to the surrounding vineyards. Here you will tour the Wine Route. The valleys around Mendoza are primarily farmland producing delicious olives, almonds, cherries, plums and of course, wine. Touring two wine cellars observe how wine is made, from the picking of the grape to the bottling of the final product, with time for a cheeky glass or two! Lunch included at a local winery.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before transferring to the airport for your flight to Bariloche in the south of Argentina’s Lake District. Resting on the slopes of a dramatic massif and facing Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche enjoys an enviable setting. Upon arrival a transfer will take you to your hotel.
This morning tour the Circuito Chico Excursion. Along the route you cross Playa Bonita at km 8 and at km 10 is the foot of Campanario Hill, where there is a chairlift that takes the traveler to the summit 1,050 meters high. From there you can see one of the most beautiful and fascinating views of the region, looking at the Lakes Nahuel Huapi and Perito Moreno, Small Lake El Trebol, San Pedro and Llao Llao peninsulas and Victoria Island. In the afternoon join a scheduled shared tour of Victoria Island and Arrayanes Forest.
