Today is a free day for you to independently explore Rio or simply relax on the beach.
It's party time! Explore the city by day and maybe try your hand at samba dancing at the special bandstands that are erected throughout the city and its suburbs. Later this evening take a shared transfer to the Sambodrome to witness the world's greatest party - Rio's annual carnival! A ticket to the famous Sambadrome parade is included for Sunday night in Frisa Sector 9.
Today is another day at leisure for you to recover from the night before or continue partying!
We say goodbye to Brazil today as after breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires, the seductive capital of Argentina. Our local rep will be waiting at the airport to transfer you to your hotel.
This morning enjoy a guided city tour taking in the Neoclassical Metropolitan Cathedral, the unusual dusty pink Government House and the history-packed Plaza de Mayo. Head to the neighbourhood of San Telmo where street performers gather to display the sensuous dance of tango, and continue to La Boca, a colourful suburb popular with local artists. Wander the attractive streets of Palermo until you reach Recoleta and the famous cemetery. Later in the evening you will be transferred to Café de Los Angelitos for a night of love, passion, madness and glamour with a traditional tango show. Born in the brothels of the 1920s, Argentine tango is a completely improvised dance and attracts both the old and the young.
The next two days are free for you to enjoy Buenos Aires at your leisure. Alternatively you may opt to join us on a trip to COLONIA DEL SACRAMENTO (URUGUAY). The tour with a ferry to Colonia del Sacramento, the only city with Portuguese occupation in the Rio de La Plata area. For years, it was a port for the black market since the Spanish taxes were avoided there. Once in Colonia del Sacramento, the tour will go around the historical neighbourhood, which was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1995 since it proves to be a wonderful mixture of the Portuguese, Spanish and Post-Colonial styles and influence. Colonia is also characterized by its narrow cobblestoned streets.
Today is at leisure. Alternatively you may opt to join us on our SAN ANTONIO DE ARECO & ESTANCIA EL OMBÚ EXCURSION. This 280 year old small town features colonial architecture and keeps the customs of the original Argentinean traditions. Nestled in lush farmlands, San Antonio de Areco has narrow sidewalks and local handicrafts, blacksmiths, silversmiths and leather shops along the streets. At noon enjoy an exquisite lunch at El Ombu Estancia surrounded by centennial oak trees, palm trees, eucalyptus and magnolias. After lunch, guests will be able to take part in activities within the farm, like taking trips on the carriages, swimming in the pool, playing tennis or just strolling in the park and relaxing.
Today marks the end of your adventure with On the Go Tours. After breakfast and hotel check out we will transfer you to the international airport in time for your onward departure flight. End of services.
