Bienviendos a Peru! Welcome to Peru and the start of your journey through the land of the Incas. Upon arrival into Lima International Airport you can just walk across to your hotel situated in the airport (Cost Del Sol Ramada)
Early this morning walk to the departure terminal and board a flight to the remote jungle settlement of Puerto Maldonado - the starting point for a scheduled excursion into the Amazon Jungle. A boat ride along the Madre de Dios River brings you to your jungle lodge where you will spend the next three nights in a beautiful cabaña.
A wide variety of excursions are on offer from guided walks through the jungle to twilight river cruises. Sail in small wooden canoes or test your vertigo on a canopy walkway. Over the next three days you will learn much about the Amazonian wildlife and its most colourful characters with excursions available to the Tambopata National Reserve, Gamitana Creek and the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve. As daylight wanes share your daily experience of life in the rainforest with your fellow guests with the captivating sounds of the jungle your soundtrack.
Bidding farewell to the jungle head back to Puerto Maldonado by boat for your flight to Cuzco. Arriving into Cuzco, you will see our friendly local team waiting to transfer your to your hotel. Considered the archaeological capital of South America, Cuzco is home to some of the finest examples of Inca history and architecture, which you will discover touring the sights of the Plaza de Armas, the Catedral and the Koricancha complex – a supreme example of Inca stonework, on an afternoon PRIVATE tour. Head out further afield to tour the Kenko Amphitheatre, Puca Pucara, Tambo Machay and the megalithic fortress of Sacsayhuaman.
Explore the Sacred Valley area today on a full day private excursion. On the way to the ancient village of Urubamba stop to visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile centre where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Enjoy a spot of shopping and practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch. The day of touring concludes with a visit to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.
Early morning we catch the train to Aguas Calientes. Arriving here, we embark on a privateexcursion to explore the citadel and the wonderful Temple of the Sun and magical Temple of the Moon on a three hour guided excursion. Other highlights include the fascinating Sacred Plaza and the elaborately carved Intihuatana rock. Lunch is provided at a local hotel before you return by train to Cusco.
Morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima where you catch your connecting flight to Buenos Aires. Arriving here, meet our local team who will take you onto your hotel.
Later join a scheduled city group tour taking in the Neoclassical Metropolitan Cathedral, the unusual dusty pink Government House and the history-packed Plaza de Mayo. Head to the neighbourhood of San Telmo where street performers gather to display the sensuous dance of tango, and continue to La Boca, a colourful suburb popular with local artists. Wander the attractive streets of Palermo until you reach Recoleta and the famous cemetery of the same name.
This morning we return you to the airport for your flight to El Calafate, Arriving here, we will drive you to your hotel.
Measuring 30km in length, the monstrous Perito Moreno glacier is a jagged mass of crevasses and towering columns of ice. It’s also unusual in the sense that it is actually growing in size and constantly moving forward. Today enjoy a full day scheduled excursion beginning at Brazo Rico where you will be able to spot floating icebergs and continuing with a nautical safari on Rico Lake for spectacular views of the ice walls.
Today we travel to Puerto Natales using the shuttle and public bus service and prepare for our time in Torres del Paine National Park. You can enjoy the quaint nature of this small town and shop for some last minute supplies.
Today you will be transferred on the hotels shuttle service to your hotel in the Torres del Paine National Park. Home to the incredible Paine Massif, a small range of mountains with unusual, twisted peaks, the national park is a striking expanse of flat brown pampa and glacial lakes.
Over the these days you will have ample opportunity to partake in the many included activities offered by your hotel. You might spend one day trekking the Ascencio Valley getting up close to the astounding Towers of Paine mountain range or horse ride to Cerro Paine for spectacular views of the Nothafagus forest. You could take a ferry across Pehoe Lake to Grey Glacier View Point for striking vistas of the centenary icebergs or you could trek to Sarmiento Lake to examine the calcium carbonate formations. The activities and excursions on offer will ensure you see the very best of this incredible national park.
Today we travel on the hotel shuttle to Punta Arenas. Arriving here, settle into your hotel.
Enjoy a private city tour of Punta Arenas. First stop is the Cerro de la Cruz view point for magnificent panoramic views of the city’s colourful rooftops, the Strait of Magellan and in the distance, the large island of Tierra del Fuego. Back in Punta Arenas visit the main square with its many beautiful buildings and the Salesian Museum, displaying a complete collection on Patagonian Indians, flora, fauna, history and economy. In the afternoon take an excursion to the colony of Magellanic penguins at Seno Otway. Beachfront hides allow visitors to observe the birds amble out of the water for feeding time. The route here along the Strait of Magellan is particularly scenic as it passes into Patagonian steppe.
This morning you will be taken to the bus operator office for the public bus to Ushuaia which includes a ferry trip across the Magellan Strait and of course border formalities. Be sure to bring your own snacks as no food is available on the way.
Taking National Route 3 as part of a scheduled group tour you’ll discover some of Tierra Del Fuego park’s most stunning natural sights including Pipo River, Ensenada Bay, Redonda Island, Roca Lake, Verde and Negra Lagoons and Castores Dam. Rich in flora and fauna, the park also offers ample variety of wildlife. Later in the afternoon board a ship in Ushuaia Bay for a scheduled cruise on the Beagle Channel. The cruise will reveal excellent views of Ushuaia as well as Olivia Mount and the Encajonado River. You’ll also see Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and pass Pajaros Island where sun-seeking penguins and fur seals come to rest on the pebbly shores.
This morning a transfer to the airport and then catch your flight to Buenos Aires. When you arrive to the airport, you need to go to Manuel Tienda Leon Office and say that you have a reservation with the Aeroparque inn & Suites Hotel and they will provide the transfer for free.
We will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Iguazu Falls. On arrival we will transfer you to the hotel.
Enjoy a scheduled full day group excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You’ll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power.
Today enjoy a private tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along catwalks that allow you to see the torrents of water at their most impressive. We then transfer to the airport in Brazil for your flight to Rio. Arriving here, you will see our driver waiting to take you to your hotel.
Enjoy free time to explore the city. Perhaps explore this colourful Brazilian city by taking a cable car up Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado, the famous statue of Christ, for great city views. Or soak up the sun on the legendary beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema.
Leaving Rio we drive in private car to follow the stunning coastline south to the colonial town of Parati, an old pirate town with streets made of stone slabs designed to let the tide wash over and clean them. A virtual museum within a tropical paradise, the town of Parati is home to one of the finest collections of classical 18th century Portuguese colonial buildings. It is also known for its local festivals on Catholic holy dates.
Enjoy free time to explore the nearby beaches and local bohemian markets or opt for a full day boat cruise around the bay where you can spend time swimming or simply relaxing on the deck while enjoying a fresh seafood lunch.
Our next stop is the sprawling metropolis of Sao Paulo, the world’s fastest growing city with a population of 19 million. The cultural capital of Brazil offers much in the way of attractions including first-rate museums, nightly concerts, experimental theatre and dance.
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the city in your own time and this evening revel in the New Years Eve celebrations.
