Day 1: Lima

Today marks the beginning of your incredible adventure through Peru. Arrival airport transfer is included and our representative will assist with hotel check in and spend time with you discussing your upcoming holiday. This evening why not head to trendy Miraflores or San Isidro and sample some fantastic Ceviche (Peru's National Dish). Overnight - Atton San Isidro Hotel.

Day 2: Lima

Today discover why Lima has historically been such an important city with a sightseeing tour (shared basis with other tourists) that covers Lima’s most impressive colonial buildings as well as a number of fascinating museums. The afternoon is free for you to explore Lima further. Overnight - Atton San Isidro Hotel.

Day 3: Lima - Cuzco

Morning flight to Cuzco. Arriving here transfer to your hotel and then this afternoon explore the ‘navel of the world’ and discover why it’s considered the archaeological capital of South America. Your shared city tour takes in the Incan streets of Loreto and Ahuajpinta where you’ll find the remains of impressive Incan palaces, as well as old colonial buildings such as the Catedral. Later in the day, head to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the ruins of Kenko, Tambomachay and the Tambo de Puca Pukara. Overnight - Costa del Sol Cusco Hotel.

Day 4: Cuzco

This morning a scenic train journey followed by a bus ride brings you to the legendary ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu. Set on a mountainous peak overlooking a deep canyon on the Urubamba River, the ancient Inca city is indeed one of South America’s most impressive sights. Be amazed by the incredibly well-preserved plazas, towers and temples as you enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Lunch at a local hotel follows before returning to Cuzco by train. Day 5: Cuzco

Known as the Sacred Valley, the area between Cuzco and Machu Picchu is littered with traditional Andean villages and fascinating Inca ruins. Today you explore the region starting with the textile centre of Awanacancha where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch then continue to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo. Overnight - Costa del Sol Cusco Hotel.

Day 6: Cuzco - Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Morning flight to Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon rainforest! Arriving here the eco-lodge team will collect you and escort you to the jetty for the boat journey downriver to the lodge. Afternoon enjoy a lovely lunch followed by a nature walk and in the night time a trip by boat to spot the caymans. Overnight - Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica - Suite Tambopata

Day 7: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

This morning you may visit the Lake Sandoval excursion into the Tambopata National Reserve. Glide in a wooden canoe, across a beautiful, mirror-like oxbow lake that is home to the endangered giant river otter, as well as red howler monkey. Return to the Inkaterra lodge for lunch. After lunch, consider the remarkable Inkaterra Canopy Walkway. Ascending the first tower, 29 meters above the forest ground, you begin your encounter with the treetop realm. For more than a quarter of a mile, you will literally walk through the rainforest canopy on a suspension bridge network linking eight observation platforms. Day 8: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Enjoy a trip to Gamitana Creek, located 25 minutes by boat from the Inkaterra lodge. For one and a half hours, explore the rainforest along the banks of a winding, dark-water creek that is home to many piranha, caiman, turtles and birds. You will return to Gamitana Farm to do a short guided tour to see how local farmers raise fruits and vegetables. Return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, walk along the lodge trails to the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica Rainforest Garden just around the cabanas. Then consider the Rainforest by Night excursion through the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve at night for an approximately 2-hour excursion. Overnight - Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica - Suite Tambopata

Day 9: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Enjoy the Hacienda Concepcion excursion, with over 200 different plant species, and learn about the uses and benefits of traditional tropical flora. This is followed by a 30-minute canoe trip to look for turtles, sun grebes, nightjars and exotic herons. Return to the Inkaterra lodge for a lunch. After lunch, you may enjoy a visit to the Wetlands excursion, where you will have the opportunity to admire the transition of the forest eco system from dry to marshlands. Day 10: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon - Lima

This morning you return by river boat to the city and onto the airport for the flight to Lima. Arriving here transfer to your hotel and then this afternoon explore. Overnight - Atton San Isidro Hotel.

Day 11: Lima

Free day. Overnight - Atton San Isidro Hotel.

Day 12: Lima

Your amazing adventure concludes with hotel check out and a departure airport transfer for your onward journey.
