Bienviendos a Argentina! Upon arrival into the international airport you will be met and transferred (PRIVATE TRANSFER) to your hotel where the rest of the day can be spent at leisure.
This morning join a scheduled group city tour taking in the Neoclassical Metropolitan Cathedral, the unusual dusty pink Government House and the history-packed Plaza de Mayo. Head to the neighbourhood of San Telmo where street performers gather to display the sensuous dance of tango, and continue to La Boca, a colourful suburb popular with local artists. Wander the attractive streets of Palermo until you reach Recoleta and the famous cemetery of the same name.
After breakfast this morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazu, your base for exploring the magnificent Iguazu Falls. Straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil, the Iguazu Falls are composed of over 250 separate cascades. Upon arrival a scheduled transfer will take you to your hotel, and later you will have a private tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along catwalks that allow you to see the torrents of water at their most impressive.
Enjoy a scheduled group full day excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You’ll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power. This evening we fly back to Buenos Aires on the later flight, overnight at an airport area hotel.
After breakfast take a private transfer to the airport for your flight to El Calafate, the starting point for excursions to one of Argentina’s most famous natural wonders – the Perito Moreno glacier. On arrival, a scheduled shuttle transfer will take you to your hotel. Remainder of day free.
Measuring 30km in length, the monstrous Perito Moreno glacier is a jagged mass of crevasses and towering columns of ice. It’s also unusual in the sense that it is actually growing in size and constantly moving forward. Today enjoy a full day scheduled excursion beginning at Brazo Rico where you will be able to spot floating icebergs and continuing with a nautical safari on Rico Lake for spectacular views of the ice walls. This afternoon transfer to El Chalten.
Early morning we head to to El Pilar. You start this lovely walk in a forest on a path that ascends gently. The challenging section is one hour of steep uphill to get to Laguna de los Tres. The effort is all made worth it by the breathtaking views you get at the top, of Mt Fitz Roy and its satellite mountains. Weather permitting; you will have lunch at the lagoon. You will then start the descent towards El Chaltén via Laguna Capri, another very photographic spot in the national park!
This morning we return to El Calafate Airport by private transfer in time to catch the flight at 12:55 south to Ushuaia. Arriving here, catch the shuttle bus to your hotel.
Taking National Route 3 as part of a group scheduled tour you’ll discover some of the park’s most stunning natural sights including Pipo River, Ensenada Bay, Redonda Island, Roca Lake, Verde and Negra Lagoons and Castores Dam. Rich in flora and fauna, the park also offers ample variety of wildlife. Later in the afternoon board a ship in Ushuaia Bay for a scheduled cruise on the Beagle Channel. The cruise will reveal excellent views of Ushuaia as well as Olivia Mount and the Encajonado River. You’ll also see Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and pass Pajaros Island where sun-seeking penguins and fur seals come to rest on the pebbly shores.
This morning we drop you off at the public bus station and you catch the bus to Punta Arenas (Journey takes the entire day) Arriving into Punta Arenas this evening after a 12 hour journey, our driver is on hand to transfer you to your hotel.
This morning you will be transferred on the hotel shuttle bus to your hotel in the Torres del Paine National Park. Arriving here, settle in and enjoy the facilities and activities on offer.
Over the next days you will have ample opportunity to partake in the many activities offered by your hotel. You might spend one day trekking the Ascencio Valley getting up close to the astounding Towers of Paine mountain range or horse ride to Cerro Paine for spectacular views of the Nothafagus forest. You could take a ferry across Pehoe Lake to Grey Glacier View Point for striking vistas of the centenary icebergs or you could trek to Sarmiento Lake to examine the calcium carbonate formations. The activities and excursions on offer will ensure you see the very best of this incredible national park.
This morning you will make your way back to Punta Arenas. From here, we fly to Santiago. Arriving in Santiago, meet our team who will bring you to your hotel by private transfer.
This morning join a scheduled tour of the city to discover Santiago’s appealing blend of the old and new. Walking to the Plaza de Armas gaze at the handsome colonial architecture including the grandiose Catedral Metropolitana, the Post Office and the Santiago City Hall. Continue to the Government Palace and the older neighbourhood of Plaza Concha y Toro marked by cobblestone streets and elegant 20th century mansions. In the afternoon enjoy free time or why not head 35 minutes out of town to the Cousiño Macul Vineyard!
Sadly your tour has come to an end, we will transfer you to Santiago Airport in time for your flight home.
