Day 1: Lima

Today marks the beginning of your incredible adventure through Peru. Arrival airport transfer is included and our representative will assist with hotel check in and spend time with you discussing your upcoming holiday.

Day 2: Lima - Huaraz

This morning we take you to the station for the bus journey to Huaraz. Because you’ll be travelling in the daytime you’ll be able to see the beautiful varied landscape. The first leg of your Peru trip follows the road along the barren rugged coast, before veering off inland. Soon you’ll see the first snow-capped peaks of the Andes looming in the distance and you’ll spot your first lama grazing on the plains. Arriving into the city meet our local rep who will assist you to your hotel. Overnight - Andino Club Hotel.

Day 3: Huaraz

This morning you'll start off early, heading north by bus to the traditional Andes settlements Carhuaz and Yungay. By noon your bus will wind its way up to the beautifully situated Llanganuco Lodge. The lodge, located on the shores of the lovely Llanganuco Lagoon is the starting point for this afternoons 6 hour return hike to Quebrada Huaytapallana, a beautiful biodiverse valley in the Huascaran National Park. Day 4: Huaraz

This morning we head out to explore Chinancocha and Orkoncocha (the famous female and male blue lagoons), both of which are surrounded by a surprising array of flora and fauna. Afterwards you'll be dropped off at Cebollapampa where today’s Peru trekking begins. After three hours you'll reach Laguna 69, an incredibly bright blue lake at the foot of the towering Chacraraju (6.112m). From here you can also see 2 more icons of the Cordillera Blanca; Huascaran and Huandoy. On the way back you'll be picked up and taken back to the lodge before being transferred back to Huaraz. Day 5: Huaraz - Lima

Enjoy today at leisure to expolore this fascinating city perhaps visit the daily Indian market in the Avenida San Martin, a colourful spectacle of local vendors in their vibrant traditional dress and market stalls selling everything under the sun, or visit the Archaeological Museum on the Plaza de Armas you can admire an interesting collection of Chavin sculptures. This evening our local guide will help you catch the sleeper bus back to Lima.

Day 6: Lima - Cuzco

Welcome back to the big city! Arriving here, you will be driven straight to the airport for your flight to Cuzco. Here, our local team are on hand to transfer you to the hotel to relax for the remainder of the day.

Day 7: Cuzco

Today your shared city tour takes in the Incan streets of Loreto and Ahuajpinta where you’ll find the remains of impressive Incan palaces, as well as old colonial buildings such as the Catedral. Later in the day, head to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the ruins of Kenko, Tambomachay and the Tambo de Puca Pukara. Overnight - Sonesta Posada del Inca

Day 8: Cuzco - Sacred Valley

Known as the Sacred Valley, the area between Cuzco and Machu Picchu is littered with traditional Andean villages and fascinating Inca ruins. Today you explore the region starting with the textile centre of Awanacancha where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch then continue to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo. We then head to your hotel located nearby for the night.

Day 9: Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

Today explore the Sacred Valley further with visits to Andean villages south of the Río Urubamba. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before transferring to the train station for a stunning train journey to the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Sit back and enjoy the views as the landscape changes from the Andean highlands to the beginnings of the jungle. Arrive Aguas Calientes and check in to hotel. Make the most of the area’s hot springs with a dip in the local thermal baths.

Day 10: Aguas Calientes - Cuzco

No place in Peru quite captures the imagination like the legendary ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu. Nestled in a saddle between two forested mountains and surrounded on three sides by the Urubamba River, its location couldn't be more awe-inspiring. The city itself is brilliantly preserved, a classical Inca-style complex of polished dry-stone walls and temples. This morning explore the citadel and the wonderful Temple of the Sun and magical Temple of the Moon on a three hour guided excursion. Other highlights include the fascinating Sacred Plaza and the elaborately carved Intihuatana rock. Lunch is provided at a local hotel before you return by train to Cusco. Day 11: Cuzco - Puno

This morning we take you to the bus station for the scenic journey to Puno. Along the way enjoy passing the stunning scenery of snow capped mountains and locals going about there business. On arrival in Puno you will be collected and transferred to your hotel. Overnight - Sonesta Posada del Inca

Day 12: Puno - Islas Taquile and Amantani

After breakfast board a yacht from Puno port for a shared cruise and tour around the floating islands of Uros. Inhabited by fishermen and hunters, these beautiful islands are made from totora reeds and were built in order to escape the imposition of invading cultures. Your cruise continues to the genuine island of Amantani, renowned for the fine crafts made by inhabitants. Enjoy lunch in the community before visiting the hilltop sanctuaries of Pachatata and Pachamama. You then settle in to your home stay, meeting the family who will be your host for the night and enjoying home-cooked meals. It’s a fantastic opportunity to learn about these peoples’ lifestyle and culture.

Day 13: Islas Taquile and Amantani - Lima

Returning to Puno we head over to the airport in Juliaca where you catch your flight to Lima. This evening we would recommend heading out to visit the lively district of San Isidro for some dinner and salsa dancing.

Day 14: Lima - Pisco

Today we travel by public bus down the coast to Pisco and Ica, from where the Peruvian national drink, the pisco sour gets its name. Enjoy a guided orientation walking tour of Pisco and Ica with our local team before settling at the hotel. Overnight - Hacienda Bahai Paracas.

Day 15: Pisco - Nasca

Today we move along the coast to neighbouring Paracas where we take a motorboat out to explore the Ballestas Islands. We then head deep into the desert towards the Huacachina oasis where you have the chance to ride dune buggies down the enormous sand dunes or relax by the pool. We continue to Nazca, an oasis town famous for the strange parallel lines and geometrical figures etched into the desert floor. Although there is a viewing tower, these strange designs can only be fully appreciated from the air. Overnight - Hacienda Bahai Paracas.

Day 16: Nasca

This morning you can opt to pay locally to see the lines on one of the small aircraft that go out in the wee early hours. After breakfast we assist with your catching the public bus back to Lima. Arriving into Lima, our local rep will assist with transfer to the airport for your flight home.
