Day 1: Santiago

Bienviendos a Chile! Upon arrival into the airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Santiago. The rest of the day is free for you to get out and explore.

Day 2: Santiago

This morning enjoy a four hour trip to discover Santiago’s appealing blend of the old and new. Walking to the Plaza de Armas gaze at the handsome colonial architecture including the grandiose Catedral Metropolitana, the Post Office and the Santiago City Hall. Continue to the Government Palace and the older neighbourhood of Plaza Concha y Toro marked by cobblestone streets and elegant 20th century mansions. Heading east through neighbourhoods with a thoroughly modern appearance stop at a local handicrafts store where you can try a Pisco Sour.

Day 3: Santiago - Lima

Today a return transfer to Santiago Airport in time for your flight (not included) to Peru. Arriving into Lima, our local team are on hand to take you to your hotel.

Day 4: Lima

For centuries Lima was considered the most beautiful city in Spanish America and today discover why with a morning sightseeing tour. We head to the Plaza Mayor. Here you'll find the opulent facade of the Presidential Palace, where each day the ceremonial changing of the guard takes place. Nearby is the austere Catedral and various small palaces and balconied edifices that helped Lima claim UNESCO World Heritage status. Discover contemporary Lima in the form of the plush suburb of San Isidro and lively Miraflores before continuing to the quiet district of Pueblo Libre to see the stylish hacienda museum. Afternoon enjoy some free time to explore.

Day 5: Lima

This morning your driver collects you from reception for the private driver to Paracas on the Pacific Coast. Arriving into Paracas check into your hotel and relax. (OVERNIGHT PARACAS)

Day 6: - Nasca

This morning by boat (shared group tour) we head out to the Ballestas Islands, home to thousands of sea lions and teeming with over 150 species of bird life. From the boat you may spot dolphins and seals playing in the waters and our cruise will also take us past the mysterious Candelabra figure engraved on the side of a mountain, believed to be linked with the lines of Nazca. Returning to dry land your driver awaits to take you to Ica. (OVERNIGHT IN ICA)

Day 7: Nasca

This morning enjoy touring the Plaza de Armas, Municipal Palace and the Catedral of Ica. We then continue to the Regional Museum of Ica, here we will be able to appreciate interesting ancient relics of different cultures which developed in the department of Ica. In the afternoon we drive to Nasca.

Day 8: Nasca - Lima

This morning you will taken to the airstrip (shared group excursion) for the 45 min flight over the lines. These designs, including a monkey, spider and hummingbird are best viewed from the air and the pilot will be pointing them out to you throughout the journey. After the flight your driver will take you by private car back to Lima.

Day 9: Lima - Arequipa

This morning you fly to Arequipa, transfers are organised both ends by our friendly local teams. Later in the day tour Arequipa and marvel at the spectacular scenery. From the Carmen Alto lookout enjoy the views of the three volcanoes surrounding the city before heading to the countryside to visit Inca terraces, famous temples and colonial houses. The day concludes with a visit to the Santa Catalina Convent. Practically an entire city within Arequipa, the convent comprises numerous streets and plazas, as well as cloisters that have remained intact despite the passing of centuries

Day 10: Arequipa - Colca Canyon

Today head towards the Colca Valley, passing a number of traditional towns, natural lagoons, volcanic peaks and a national reserve along the way. This is a great place to see many species of birds and South American camelids in their natural habitat. Stop for an invigorating coca tea at Patahuasy and ascend to a pass 4800m above sea level before reaching your final destination, the town of Chivay.

Day 11: Colca Canyon

Visit the village of Yanque to enjoy the typical dances of the region before continuing towards Cruz del Condor. Here you can observe the majestic flight of the Condor – the largest bird in the world - as it soars over the Colca Canyon. To best admire the canyon you will make a number of stops at various lookout points. The Colca Canyon is one of the world’s deepest and photo opportunities abound. Heading back to Chivay stop at the pre-Inca ruins of Uyo Uyo. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore Chivay’s artisan shops and markets or for the more adventurous, head to Río Colca for white-water rafting.

Day 12: Colca Canyon - Arequipa

Returning back to Arequipa today enjoy some free time to explore at your leisure.

Day 13: Arequipa - Sacred Valley

This morning you fly to Cuzco, transfers are organised both ends by our friendly local teams. Arriving in Cuzco you head straight out of the city to the Sacred Valley to stay the night in Andean paradise.

Day 14: Sacred Valley

Known as the Sacred Valley, the area between Cuzco and Machu Picchu is littered with traditional Andean villages and fascinating Inca ruins. Today you explore the region starting with the textile centre of Awanacancha where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch then continue to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.

Day 15: Sacred Valley - Aguas Calientes

This morning a scenic train journey followed by a bus ride brings you to the legendary ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu. Set on a mountainous peak overlooking a deep canyon on the Urubamba River, the ancient Inca city is indeed one of South America’s most impressive sights. Be amazed by the incredibly well-preserved plazas, towers and temples as you enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu. Lunch at a local hotel follows your tour. After the tour enjoy free time to wander around the site at your leisure your hotel is very close by.

Day 16: Aguas Calientes - Cuzco

Enjoy a day at leisure to do as you please you can revisit Machu Picchu (entry ticket is not included), or perhaps go for a dip in the mineral hot springs in the town. In the afternoon, return to by train and upon arrival at the train station you will be met by our representative and private driver for your transfer to the hotel.

Day 17: Cuzco

This morning explore the ‘navel of the world’ and discover why it’s considered the archaeological capital of South America. Your shared city tour takes in the Incan streets of Loreto and Ahuajpinta where you'll find the remains of impressive Incan palaces, as well as old colonial buildings such as the Catedral. Later in the day, head to the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman and the ruins of Kenko, Tambomachay and the Tambo de Puca Pukara. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 18: Cuzco

Enjoy a full day at your leisure to explore this incredible city.

Day 19: Cuzco - Iguazu Falls (Argentina)

Early morning transfer to Cusco Airport to board your flight (not included) back to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima our local team will offer assistance with all departure formalities for your international flight (not included) to Iguazu Falls. Arriving at Foz do Iguaçú Airport our local team will be there to drive you to your hotel.

Day 20: Iguazu Falls (Argentina) - Rio De Janeiro

Enjoy a full day excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You'll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power.

Day 21: Rio De Janeiro

Today taking to the sky (transfer to Foz do Iguaçú Airport) you fly (flight not included) onward to Rio De Janeiro, transfers organised by our friendly local team at both ends.

Day 22: Rio De Janeiro - Buenos Aires

Enjoy a full day expert guide exploring this fantastic city with the highlights being Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car and Corcovado, with its famous Statue of Christ, for great city views.

Day 23: Buenos Aires

Sadly your journey comes to its conclusion today, we will be sure to transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
