Day 1: Lima

Welcome to Lima! Arrival into Lima airport, you will be met by our representative and will be escorted to your hotel. Our representative will assist you with check-in procedures and provide you with a detailed itinerary, vouchers covering all the services included in your tour and additional information on the organization of your Peru trip.

Day 2: Lima - Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Transfer to the airport for your flight to the City of Puerto Maldonado. Met on arrival in Puerto Maldonado and transfer by boat to the lodge. Walk through the trails inside Hacienda Concepcion. Interpretation of primary and secondary rain forest: its components, uses and transformations by the human being, and its relevance for the world. Approximately 2-hour walk.

Day 3: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Navigation in Canoe around Lake Sandoval. 50min walk towards the Tambopata National Reserve and 1-hr walk through Terra Firma forest. Return to the lodge by foot (Access to discretion during months of rain). Visit the interpretation center and walk through treetops and wetlands. 25min transfer by boat to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway interpretation center to learn about its construction conservation projects. Ascend the towers and cross the bridges that connect the treetops. 15-minute walk towards the Anaconda Walk wetlands. Return to lodge by boat Walk in the Hacienda Concepcion trail system. Interpretation of the secondary forest during the night. Approximately 2- hour walk.

Day 4: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon - Cuzco

Boat back to the city and visit the INKATERRA butterfly house. There several of the 3,800 Peruvian species are preserved and reproduced. Transfer to the airport for your flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco. Upon your arrival to Lima airport you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and drive you to the hotel.

Day 5: Cuzco

Full day Pisac Market, Pisac Ruins & Ollantaytambo Fortress (private). Visit Pisac Markets where you will have the chance to interact with the local folk and even barter with the merchants. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, end the day with a visit to the Incan fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo. This fortress was constructed in order to guard the entrance to this part of the valley and protect it from possible invasions of tribes from the jungle lowlands, and was later the scene of Incan resistance in 1537, when Manco Inca’s forces faced Hernando Pizarro’s troops. Dinner will be served at the hotel.

Day 6: Cuzco

Morning transfer to the train station for an amazing train journey to the famous Machu Picchu. Along the way you will enjoy the changing landscape as you travel from Andean highlands to the beginnings of the jungle (“eyebrow of the jungle”), before finally arriving at the town of Aguas Calientes. From here we will board the bus that will take you on a 20 minute ride up to the citadel of Machu Picchu. A guided tour of the Citadel includes the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. Buffet lunch at the Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is included. In the afternoon, return to by train and upon arrival at the train station you will be met by our representative and private driver for your transfer to the hotel.

Day 7: Cuzco - Lima

Today you will be transferred for your flight to Lima. Upon your arrival to Lima airport you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your luggage and drive you to the hotel. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour including Lima's Historical Center, passing by Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum. Finally visit the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana. Also visit El Olivar Park with olive trees brought from Spain in the XVth Century, the Central Park of Miraflores and Larcomar, a symbol of modern Lima and a tourist and entertainment centre as well as a privileged site to enjoy an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.

Day 8: Lima

At the appropriate time transfer to Lima Airport to board your international flight to Lima.
