Day 1: Rio De Janeiro

Welcome to Rio and the start of your South American Sojourn! Arriving into Rio Airport, you will see our friendly local driver waiting to meet you and transfer you onto your hotel.

Days 2-3: Rio De Janeiro

Enjoy today and tomorrow at leisure to explore the city in your own time.

Day 4: Rio De Janeiro - Iguazu Falls (Argentina)

After breakfast this morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Aeroporto Internacional de Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, your base for exploring the magnificent Iguazu Falls. Straddling the border between Argentina and Brazil, the Iguazu Falls are composed of over 250 separate cascades. Upon arrival a scheduled transfer will take you to your hotel, and later you will join a private guided tour of the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along catwalks that allow you to see the torrents of water at their most impressive.

Day 5: Iguazu Falls (Argentina) - Lima

Enjoy a scheduled full day private guided tour excursion to the Argentinian side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You’ll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power. Later a transfer to the airport for the direct daily flight to Lima Peru from Aeroporto Internacional de Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil. Arriving into Lima, walk across the terminal and check into your room for the night at the Ramada Airport Hotel.

Day 6: Lima - Cuzco

After breakfast transfer yourself back to the airport for your flight to Cuzco, known to the Incas as the ‘navel of the world’. Considered the archaeological capital of South America, Cuzco is home to some of the finest examples of Inca history and architecture, which you will discover touring the sights of the Plaza de Armas, the Catedral and the Koricancha complex – a supreme example of Inca stonework, on an afternoon scheduled group tour. Head out further afield to tour the Kenko Amphitheatre, the fortified hunting lodge of Puca Pucara, the stunning imperial baths of Tambo Machay and the megalithic fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Day 7: Cuzco

Explore the Sacred Valley area today on a full day group scheduled excursion. On the way to the ancient village of Urubamba, we stop to visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile centre where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Enjoy a spot of shopping and practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch (own expense). The day of touring concludes with a visit to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.

Day 8: Cuzco

This morning a scenic train journey followed by a bus ride brings you to the legendary ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu on a scheduled excursion. Set on a mountainous peak overlooking a deep canyon on the Urubamba River, the ancient Inca city is indeed one of South America’s most impressive sights. Be amazed by the incredibly well-preserved plazas, towers and temples as you enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu.

Day 9: Cuzco

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore this incredible city.

Day 10: Cuzco

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
