Day 1: Rio De Janeiro

Bem Vindo Rio! Upon arrival into the airport you will be met by our friendly local team and transferred to your hotel downtown. The rest of the day is free for you to get out and explore.

Days 2-3: Rio De Janeiro

Today and tomorrow are at your leisure to explore. You'll soon find there is plenty to see and do. There are trips up Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car and Corcovado, with its famous Statue of Christ, for great city views. Another interesting journey is on the old tram system across the viaduct into the cobblestone neighbourhood of Santa Teresa. A walking tour of Rio's historic buildings is also a lovely way to pass an afternoon, or you may like to visit the Botanical Gardens or one of the famous beaches, such as Copacabana, Ipanema or Leblon. If you are in Rio de Janeiro around February/March get ready for the world's biggest party, the Rio Carnival.

Day 4: Rio De Janeiro - Cuzco

Today marks the end of your Brazilian adventure and the start of your Peruvian one! Very early morning we will transfer you to Rio Airport in time for your flight to Lima where you connect onto your Cuzco bound flight. Welcome to what was known to the Incas as the ‘navel of the world’, arriving here, meet our team who will take you onto your hotel.

Day 5: Cuzco

This morning enjoy exploring this colourful and historic city. Considered the archaeological capital of South America, Cuzco is home to some of the finest examples of Inca history and architecture, which you will discover touring the sights of the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral and the Koricancha complex – a supreme example of Inca stonework, on an afternoon scheduled tour. Head out further afield to tour the Kenko Amphitheatre, the fortified hunting lodge of Puca Pucara, the stunning imperial baths of Tambo Machay and the megalithic fortress of Sacsayhuaman. This afternoon is at your leisure to explore the town.

Day 6: Cuzco

Spend the day with your guide exploring the Sacred Valley which was greatly appreciated by the Incas due to its special geographical and climatic qualities. On the way to the ancient village of Urubamba stop to visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile centre where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Enjoy a spot of shopping and practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch. The day of touring concludes with a visit to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.

Day 7: Cuzco

This morning early we set off to the train station for a stunning train journey to the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Sit back and enjoy the views as the landscape changes from the Andean highlands to the beginnings of the jungle. Arrive Aguas Calientes and with your guide catch the shuttle up to the entry gate for a full day exploring. You return to Cuzco late in the evening by return train.

Day 8: Cuzco - Mancora

This morning bright and early again our local team take you onto the airport for your flight to Lima where you will catch your connecting flight onto Piura. Here, meet our local driver who will be taking you the 1 hr+ journey through the sand dunes and oil fields to Mancora Beach.

Days 9-12: Mancora

Enjoy time in Peru’s most popular surfer hang out. With gorgeous beaches and a thriving nightlife, Mancora is the perfect place to unwind or party after a busy touring schedule. Over the next four days you are free to do as little or as much as you like. Lounge like a sun-lizard on the pristine sandy beaches or check out the water-based activities on offer, including kite-surfing and sea kayaking. Fill up on superb seafood caught straight from the sea or make your way to the local mud baths for a spot of indulgence.

Day 13: Mancora - Quito

This morning we return to Piura Airport to catch your flight to Quito (Via Lima) Bienvenidos a Ecuador! Upon arrival you will be met at the international airport and take a scheduled transfer to your hotel in Quito where the rest of the day is free.

Day 14: Quito

This morning visit downtown Quito and its architectural treasures on a private city tour. Your stroll takes you through Independence Plaza, past the Cathedral and the Presidential Palace, and on to the temple of La Compañia de Jesús with its dazzling gilded interior and the impressive façade of the Monastery of San Francisco. Touring continues with the Equatorial Monument that marks the exact point of the Middle of the World. With a latitude of 0°, you can stand with a foot in each hemisphere and collect a certificate for having crossed the Equator. Next visit the Ethnographic Museum to learn about the different Native American groups living in Ecuador.

Day 15: Quito

Spend the day on an excursion to the market town of Otavalo. A stunning journey through dramatic Andean scenery brings you to your first stop of the day, the small town of Calderón popular for the bread dough figurines sculpted into many shapes and sizes. Continue along the valleys of Guayllabamba and Cayambe to arrive at Otavalo in time for the famous market of local handicrafts. It’s the perfect time for souvenir shopping with stalls piled high with ponchos, scarves, blankets, woven belts (fajas), handbags and much more. Next stop is the traditional Indian village of Peguche where artisans weave in their homes. Lunch is taken at one of the charming haciendas in the area.

Day 16: Quito - Amazon Jungle - Ecuador

A scenic flight over the majestic Andes mountains followed by a motorised canoe ride along the Napo River brings you to your stunning jungle lodge.

Days 17-19: Amazon Jungle - Ecuador

Over the next three days you will have plenty of opportunities to discover the pristine Ecuadorian rainforest. During the day venture out into the wilds for wildlife spotting and outdoor activities included as part of your stay. Swim in the local lakes, observe bird species from the mini observational towers, visit the vibrant butterfly house and explore the jungle at night on foot or by boat looking out for the glowing orange eyes of the black caiman. There’ll also be numerous hiking trails available along the Rio Napo or deep into the rainforest and for those looking for a bird’s eye view, the canopy walkway is the perfect vertigo-inducing experience.

Day 20: Amazon Jungle - Ecuador

After your final breakfast in the Amazon, take an easy walk on the boardwalk to watch monkeys one last time before departing your jungle lodge and heading back to Quito by plane. On arrival you will be at your own devices to catch your flight destined for home. Bon Voyage!
