Welcome to the start of your exclusive On the Go Tours journey through Peru! This morning we collect you and transfer you to Lima airport for your flight to the remote jungle settlement of Puerto Maldonado - the starting point for your sojourn into the Amazon Jungle. A boat ride along the Madre de Dios River brings you to your jungle lodge where you will spend the next two nights in a rustic lodge. After lunch, we enjoy a guided walking tour on nearby Monkey Island to meet the mischievous residents and learn all about the rainforest from your expert guide. (This lodge schedule is just a guide. Changes may be made before or during your trip due to changing local conditions such as weather)
This morning we set out to explore the jungle on a hike to Cocha Perdida or "Lost Lake". The trek is about 8 km and along the way your guide will stop to point out the different types of birds and insects. The scenery during the trek is extremely varied incorporating dense jungle as well as marsh areas which are crossed by wooden walkways. Returning to the lodge in the afternoon for a delicious lunch, thereafter, have the opportunity to do some piranha fishing or just relax back at the lodge.
Bidding farewell to the jungle we head back to Puerto Maldonado by boat for your flight to Cuzco. Upon arrival in Cuzco, our local team await to transfer you to your own pre booked hotel.
Cuzco is a fantastic city to explore at leisure, with its ancient pathways & buildings, markets for food and great shopping, safe residential and commercial suburbs to explore and gain a real insight into Peruvian living - you will find much to do today in your free time.
This morning a scenic train journey followed by a bus ride brings you to the legendary ‘Lost City’ of Machu Picchu on a private excursion. Set on a mountainous peak overlooking a deep canyon on the Urubamba River, the ancient Inca city is indeed one of South America’s most impressive sights. Be amazed by the incredibly well-preserved plazas, towers and temples as you enjoy a guided tour of Machu Picchu. After lunch at a local restaurant (own expense) you return to Cuzco by train.
Enjoy another day to explore Cuzco at your leisure.
This morning we take you to the bus station and assist in embarking the tourist bus to Puno. During the trip, you pass by the lovely Huacarpay Lake, offering spectacular views of the mountains reflected in its calm waters. Stops are usually made at the beautiful Town of Andahuaylillas to see the Church of San Pedro de Andahuaylillas, Raqchi arqueological centre, Sicuani town, La Rapya pass and Pukara museum. Arriving into Puno in the late afternoon, our local driver awaits to take you to your hotel.
After breakfast board a yacht from Puno port for a shared cruise and tour around the floating islands of Uros. Inhabited by fishermen and hunters, these beautiful islands are made from totora reeds and were built in order to escape the imposition of invading cultures. Your cruise continues to the island of Taquile. The peasant community of this island has kept intact the customs and traditions of their ancestors and a visit here is like taking a step back in time. The boat then takes you to your hotel on Isla Suasi in time for lunch.
Free day at leisure to further explore the island and relax.
This morning is at your leisure to relax and explore your lakeside surroundings. Later, a boat has been arranged to take you back to Puno city with a onward transfer to your downtown hotel.

Explore the narrow, meandering streets of Rosario, San Jorge and San Miguel, some of La Paz's oldest and liveliest neighbourhoods. We will pass through the La Paz witches' market, a sprawling open-air market in the middle of the city where women in the traditional Atiplanic petticoats and bowler hats sell medicinal herbs and spices. We will then head to the southern neighbourhoods to visit Valle de la Luna, a fascinating geological anomaly known as Moon Valley because of its bizarre, moon-like landscape.
