Day 1: Rio De Janeiro

Welcome to Rio and the start of your epic South America journey! Arriving into Rio Airport, you will see our friendly local team waiting to transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2: Rio De Janeiro

This morning in the cooler air we enjoy a guided visit to the Sugar Loaf, followed by a visit to the Christ the Redeemer Statue, one of the new seven wonders of the world. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 3: Rio De Janeiro

This morning enjoy a journey on the old tram system across the viaduct into the cobblestone neighbourhood of Santa Teresa which is followed with a walking tour of Rio's historic buildings which is also a lovely way to pass an afternoon.

Day 4: Rio De Janeiro - Amazon Jungle - Brazil

This morning we transfer you to Rio Airport for the 07 AM direct flight to Manaus situated on the mighty Amazon River. Arriving here, you are met by the team from the lodge who transfer you by car and boat into the rain forest lodge.

Days 5-6: Amazon Jungle - Brazil

For today and tomorrow enjoy excursions to explore the incredible Amazon Rain forest. Included excursions include jungle walks, boat trips, fishing, and more.

Day 7: Amazon Jungle - Brazil - Rio De Janeiro

This morning the lodge team will return you to the airport for your flight back to Rio. Arriving here,a driver will bring you back to your hotel. Spend the afternoon at leisure.

Day 8: Rio De Janeiro - Iguazu Falls (Argentina)

After breakfast this morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Iguazu Falls (Brazil Side) Upon arrival we enjoy exploring the Brazilian side of the falls, walking along catwalks that allow you to see the torrents of water at their most impressive. After, we transfer you to Argentina and your hotel for the night.

Day 9: Iguazu Falls (Argentina)

Today we enjoy a full day excursion to the Argentinean side of the falls. A number of walking trails are available bringing you in front of or above the rapids. You’ll also see the dramatic Garganta del Diablo or Devil’s Throat, an awe-inspiring display of natural power.

Day 10: Iguazu Falls (Argentina) - Buenos Aires

Morning transfer to Iguazu Airport (Argentina) for your flight to Buenos Aires. Arriving here, our friendly local team await to transfer you to your hotel. Often labelled the ‘Paris of South America’, Buenos Aires, or simply BA, is a seductive mix of elegant architecture, characterful residents and fantastic entertainment options. Relax and explore at leisure for the remainder of the day.

Day 11: Buenos Aires

This morning we enjoy a city tour taking in the Neoclassical Metropolitan Cathedral, the unusual dusty pink Government House and the history-packed Plaza de Mayo. Head to the neighbourhood of San Telmo where street performers gather to display the sensuous dance of tango, and continue to La Boca, a colourful suburb popular with local artists. Wander the attractive streets of Palermo until you reach Recoleta and the famous cemetery of the same name. Later in the evening you will be collected from your hotel for a transfer to Café de Los Angelitos for a night of love, passion, madness and glamour with a traditional tango show.

Day 12: Buenos Aires

Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the city.

Day 13: Buenos Aires - Santiago

Today we head back to the airport for your flight to Santiago. Arriving here, our local team are on hand to take you onto your hotel. This afternoon we enjoy discovering Santiago’s appealing blend of the old and new. Walking to the Plaza de Armas gaze at the handsome colonial architecture including the grandiose Catedral Metropolitana, the Post Office and the Santiago City Hall. Continue to the Government Palace and the older neighbourhood of Plaza Concha y Toro marked by cobblestone streets and elegant 20th century mansions.

Day 14: Santiago

Enjoy a full day of premium wine tastings in the Colchagua Valley, which forms the southern half of what’s more commonly known as the Rapel Valley. Colchagua is famous as the king of Chilean red wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Carménère, Syrah, and small quantities of Malbec.

Day 15: Santiago - Cuzco

Bid farewell to Chile and hello to Peru. This morning we take you to the airport for your flight to Lima where you connect to your flight to Cuzco. Here, our team await to take you onto your hotel.

Day 16: Cuzco

Considered the archaeological capital of South America, Cuzco is home to some of the finest examples of Inca history and architecture, which you will discover touring the sights of the Plaza de Armas, the Catedral and the Koricancha complex – a supreme example of Inca stonework, on an afternoon scheduled tour. Head out further afield to tour the Kenko Amphitheatre, the fortified hunting lodge of Puca Pucara, the stunning imperial baths of Tambo Machay and the megalithic fortress of Sacsayhuaman.

Day 17: Cuzco - Sacred Valley

Today we explore the Sacred Valley area today on a full day excursion. On the way to the ancient village of Urubamba stop to visit Awanacancha, an Andean textile centre where the art of Incan textile is kept alive. Continue to the archaeological complex of Pisac, formed of a collection of remains of Incan dwellings, temples and terracing. Enjoy a spot of shopping and practise your bartering skills at the local market before stopping for lunch. The day of touring concludes with a visit to the impressive fortress and citadel of Ollantaytambo.

Day 18: Sacred Valley - Cuzco

Early morning we head to nearby Ollantaytambo to catch the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. Here, we embark on a scheduled excursion to explore the Machu Picchu citadel and the wonderful Temple of the Sun and magical Temple of the Moon on a three hour guided excursion. Other highlights include the fascinating Sacred Plaza and the elaborately carved Intihuatana rock. Lunch is provided at a local hotel before you return by train to Cusco arriving late PM.

Day 19: Cuzco - Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Early this morning board a flight to the remote jungle settlement of Puerto Maldonado - the starting point for a scheduled excursion into the Amazon Jungle. A boat ride along the Madre de Dios River brings you to your jungle lodge where you will spend the next three nights in a beautiful cabaña. This afternoon enjoy the first of your fascinating jungle excursions to explore the incredible rain forest.

Days 20-21: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon

Over today and tomorrow you will learn much about the Amazonian wildlife and its most colourful characters wide variety of excursions are on offer from guided walks through the jungle to twilight river cruises. Sail in small wooden canoes or test your vertigo on a canopy walkway - excursions available to the Tambopata National Reserve, Gamitana Creek and the Inkaterra Ecological Reserve.

Day 22: Puerto Maldonado and the Amazon - Lima

Bidding farewell to the jungle head back to Puerto Maldonado by boat for your flight to Lima. If there is time be sure to visit the Inkaterra Butterfly House located close to the airport. Peru boasts the greatest variety of butterflies in the world, many of which can be seen at the Butterfly House. Upon arrival in Lima you will be transferred to your hotel where the rest of the day is free.

Day 23: Lima

For centuries Lima was considered the most beautiful city in Spanish America and today discover why with a morning tour. First stop is the Plaza Mayor where you’ll find the opulent facade of the Palacio de Gobierno, or Presidential Palace, where each day the ceremonial changing of the guard takes place. Nearby is the austere Catedral and various small palaces and balconied edifices. Discover contemporary Lima in the form of the plush suburb of San Isidro and lively Miraflores before continuing to the quiet district of Pueblo Libre to see the stylish hacienda museum, which exhibits hundreds of excellently preserved ceramics.

Day 24: Lima

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
