See the vivid life of the Jagalchi Fish Market as locals haggle with the fishermen selling their fresh catch before you depart for Gyeongju.
Our guided exploration today takes in the stunning Bulguska Temple and Seokguram Grotto. We then tour Tumuli Park to visit some of the large and small tombs from the Silla period. Later we visit the fascinating National Museum and the oldest surviving observatory in East Asia and one of the world’s oldest scientific installations still in existence, Cheomseongdae Observatory.
This morning travel to Andong which is considered the spiritual home of Korea as well as the cradle of Korea’s cultural tradition. Here, explore the Hahoe Folk Village where about 130 traditional houses large and small, from nobility to commoners, have been well-preserved by the same families for generations and after we pay a visit to Jirye Artist’s Colony, which began in 1988 as a colony for artists and writers to ply their creative crafts in beautiful natural surroundings. This morning we have a scenic drive to Mt Seorak National Park. Here we spend time taking in the gorgeous surroundings including the wonderful Gwongeumseong Fortress by scenic cable car and also a visit to Choksan Spring Spa where we have time to use the facilities and relax before driving back to Seoul.
