Immerse yourself in the beautiful surrounds of Danum Valley of both the creature and eco comfort kind, before unearthing the coral and sea-life off Mabul Island, once of the world’s most renowned dive sites. Sabah’s rainforest and reefs are spectacular and are just waiting to be discovered.

Day 1: Lahad Datu

Welcome to Sabah - Upon arrival at Lahad Datu Airport you are met and driven to Danum Valley through selectively logged forest, cocoa and soft¬wood plantations before arriving at the Borneo Rainforest Lodge beside Danum River on the edge of 438 sq km of undisturbed lowland rainforest. The Lodge is home to the full range of Sabah's lowland fauna, including the rare Sumatran Rhinoceros, Elephants, Clouded Leopards, and Orangutans. So far some 275 species of birds have been recorded in the area. Explore the nature trail and nearby river. In the evening a slide show and if weather permits we go spotlighting to view some of the nocturnal animals. Overnight - Borneo Rainforest Lodge (L)

Day 2: Danum Valley

Danum Valley. Wake early for bird-walking before breakfast, then spend the remainder of the exploring the forest for birds and mammal. Discover ancient burial coffins and trek to waterfall for a refreshing dip in rock pools. Return to the lodge for lunch before taking the trails leading to a canopy walkway. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. Overnight - Borneo Rainforest Lodge (B, L, D)

Day 3: Mabul Island

Danum Valley - Mabul Island. Depart from Borneo Rainforest Lodge for Semporna and the boat ride to Mabul Island. On arrival an orientation and shore dives are conducted by a dive master. Lunch, Dinner and Overnight Mabul Island. Overnight - Mabul Island (B, L, D)

Days 4 - 5: Divers Paradise

Mabul Island. With three boat dives per day and unlimited shore dives included in your stay,spend your time enjoying this unbeatable diving paradise. Overnight - Mabul Island (B:1, L:1, D:1)

Day 6: Tawau Airport

Our time in Borneo concludes today with a transfer to back to the mainland and onwards to Tawau Airport. (B)

Prices shown are per person travelling. 'Twin/Double' prices per person apply when there are 2 people travelling, sharing a room. The 'Single supplement' applies for single travellers who require their own room and needs to be added to the 'Twin/Double' price.

If you are happy to be paired up with another single traveller of the same sex on your tour, this can be arranged, (if another solo traveller of the same sex is already booked upon the tour), thus avoiding the single person supplement.

Travelling to Talang Talang Island in Borneo you will have the opportunity to work directly with the forestry wardens in conserving the majestic sea turtle of the region, you can even adopt a turtle and be updated on its process once you have returned home.
