Day 1: Kota Kinabalu
Saturday - Welcome to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival, you’ll be met and transferred to your hotel. Overnight - Kota Kinabalu
Day 2: Manukan Island
Kota Kinabalu. Just a 20 minute boat ride and we arrive at the beautiful coral islands of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Park. Offering pristine white beaches, clear water and coral reefs, this is perfect place for a day of relaxation and swimming. Snorkel in crystal clear water among coral reef and tropical fish or explore jungle trails. Overnight - Kota Kinabalu (B)

Day 3: Dusun Village Homestay
Travelling north through scenic paddy fields, rubber plantations and native houses with majestic Mount Kinabalu as the background. At Kota Belud, the rice bowl of Sabah, try your bargaining skills at the open market and observe the locals engaging in trade. Next proceed to a traditional Dusun village and Taginambur homestay, where this evening we will enjoy a cultural show. Overnight - Taginabur (B, D)
Day 4: Dusun Village & Kinabalu National Park
Taginabur - Kundasang. Wake up to the calls of roosters and feel the tranquillity of the village. Start your day by walking to the nearby rubber estate to test your skill at rubber tapping. Transfer to Kinabalu National Park where we visit the education centre and mountain garden, home to various species of the flowering Rhododendrons, carnivorous pitcher plants, orchids, ferns, and birds. If time and weather permits, take a guided trail walk. Overnight - Kundasang (B)
Day 5: Kundasang Memorial Park, Poring & Sepilok Nature Resort
Kundasang – Sepilok. This morning we visit the Kundasang memorial park and discover Sabah's WWII history, before heading to Poring, 1,500 ft above sea level, and east of Kinabalu Park HQ. Explore tropical lowland rainforest and the jungle trail leading up to the treetop canopy walkways, suspended 41 meters above the forest floor across giant Mengaris trees. Next we proceed by road to Sepilok where this evening we experience a nightwalk from the Rainforest Discovery Centre. Overnight - Sepilok Nature Resort (B)
Day 6: Orangutans & Kinabatangan River
Sepilok – Breakfast. First off we visit the Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where you will observe them at their feeding stations and watch a video on the rehabilitation programme, before departing for Sukau Rainforest Lodge. Late this afternoon we take a river cruise in search of wildlife - Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbill.
Return for a candle light dinner overlooking the riverbank and slide show conducted by naturalist guide. After dinner perhaps consider an optional night safari cruise spotting nocturnal animals, crocodiles and birds.

Day 7: Sukau Rainforest Lodge
This morning, a very early river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view birds and wildlife before returning for breakfast and an enlightening tour of the Hornbill Boardwalk with the resort’s in-house naturalist. Later, visit the 65 acres Kinabatangan Wildlife Corridor Regeneration Program (KWICORP) site to learn about reforestation of degraded riverine reserve and a further river cruise in search of wildlife. Overnight - Sukau Rainforest Lodge (B, L, D)
Day 8: Sandakan
After breakfast, we retace our steps to Sandakan where the tour ends after tour airport transfer. (B)
