Day 1: Luang Prabang

Welcome to Laos, and the start of your eye opening adventure! We are awaiting your arrival at Luang Prabang Airport for an arrival briefing and transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Luang Prabang

This morning we start our exploration with a visit to the oldest temple in Luang Prabang, Wat Visoun, and the banyan tree graced grounds of Wat Aham. Later we marvel at the former Royal Palace, now a national museum and home to gilded rooms and Buddha artifacts. We then discover more of Luang Prabang’s holy sites with a morning visit to Wat Sene and the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong.

Day 3: Luang Prabang

Sit back and enjoy the views of tranquil countryside as we cruise upstream on the Mekong River to reach the mysterious Pak Ou caves. Crammed with Buddha images of all shapes and sizes, these two caves stand in the lower part of a limestone cliff overlooking the river. Along the way, we sample rural life at the villages of Ban Xanghai and Ban Muangkeo. In the afternoonwe visit the beautiful Khouangsi waterfall. Dip in the turquoise pools or take a walk along the forest trails.

Day 4: Luang Prabang

LUANG PRABANG - XIENG KHUANG By private car we have a scenic six hour drive to Xieng Khuang - (OVERNIGHT Vansana IN XIENG KHUANG)

Day 5: - Vientiane

XIENG KHUANG - VIENTIANE This morning enjoy exploring the Plain of Jars. Here, thousands of megalithic jars appear in clusters, ranging from a single or a few to several hundred jars at lower foothills surrounding the central plain and upland valleys. We then head to the airport for your flight to Vientiane.

Day 6: Vientiane

After breakfast we explore the charming and laid-back capital of Laos with a city tour by Tuk Tuk. We visit the oldest Buddhist monastery temple in the country - Wat Si Saket – and the former royal temple of Haw Pha Kaeo, built to house the famed Emerald Buddha. Next visit Pha That Luang, the most important monument in Laos and a symbol of both Buddhist religion and Lao sovereignty. We also stop to view the imposing Patuxay monument - Vientiane’s own Arc de Triomphe. Later in the afternoon enjoy time exploring the hundreds of Hindu and Buddhist sculptures scattered throughout Buddha Park and learning all about orchids at the Vientiane Orchid Centre.

Day 7: Vientiane - Pakse

This morning we return to the airport in time for your flight to Pakse. Arriving here, meet with our local team and then set out to explore the region with a tour including Tad Fan Waterfall, Bolaven Plateau and Alak and Nge and Katu.

Day 8: Pakse - Khong Island

This morning we drive to the ancient temple of Wat Phou, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Laos. Then enjoy the beautiful lush scenery as you take a boat across the Mekong to Si Phan Don and ultimately Khong Island. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure exploring this sedate and picturesque island and its villages on foot or by bike. Overnight Sala Done Khone (3 star).

Day 9: Khong Island - Pakse

Set sail this morning on a scenic 4000 Islands boat trip, where you may spot the rare Irrawaddy Mekong Dolphin! Later return to Pakse, visiting thundering Khone Phapeng - Southeast Asia’s largest waterfalls en route.

Day 10: Pakse - Siem Reap

Today a transfer to Pakse Airport for your flight to Siem Reap (not included). Upon arrival we will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel for the evening.

Day 11: Siem Reap

Today we have included your entrance ticket to visit independently (without guide) Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and Ta Prohm.

Day 12: Siem Reap

Today is a free day for you to relax or explore independently. Why not enhance your holiday and add on the Tonle Sap optional?

Day 13: Siem Reap

Sadly your last day with us with your departure airport transfer.
