Day 1: Yangon

Welcome to Burma, ‘quite unlike any place you know about’. Arrive Yangon with included airport transfer to your hotel where later in the day a Welcome Meeting will be held.

Day 2: Yangon

Today we explore the fascinating city of Yangon and its famous religious monuments. We begin at the waterfront, the heart of the city and home to many impressive traditional and colonial buildings including the Sule Pagoda, Maha Bandoola Park with Independence Monument, the City Hall and the High Court. We also visit the gold, hollow Botahtaung Pagoda, originally built over 2500 years ago, and the giant 70 metre-long reclining Buddha of Chaukhtagyi Paya. Later this evening we visit the most revered Buddhist temple in Burma, the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, where locals gather to make offerings and prayers, here see the magnificent sunset.

Day 3: Yangon - Bagan

This morning we assist with your flight to Bagan. Nothing can quite prepare you for the spectacular sight of stupa-upon-stupa that fills the green, dusty plains of Bagan. SPend the day with our expert guide exploring the fantastic temples including Nyaung U Market, Shwezigon Pagoda, Kyansittha Umin, Wet-Kyi-Inn Gubyaukgyi Temple and Htilominlo Temple. Then visit Manuha Temple, before stopping at Nanphaya. Also we visit Ananda Temple, as well as the Oakkyaung Monastery. We conclude our day with sunset views from the terraces of an ancient temple.

Day 4: Bagan

The day starts with exploring Lawkananda Pagoda, located along the river. We then continue on to East and West Phet Leik and Thatbyinnyu Temple. Other sites we explore today are the Shwegugyi Temple, the Palace site and Tharaba Gate. A short rest for lunch, before we continue on to explore Apeyadana Temple, also stop at Dhamayangyi Temple. We conclude our day with a sunset cruise along the Ayeyarwaddy River.

Day 5: Bagan

Early in the morning, we climb to Buledi Pagoda, followed with a visit to Minnanthu temple. Our guide will spend the rest of today with you exploring other temples in the area, concluding the day with a fun horse cart to Pyathagyi Pagoda for sunset views.

Day 6: Bagan - Mandalay

This morning we fly to Mandalay, Burma’s last royal capital. After arrival transfer we explore the ancient city of Amarapura is rich in sights and home to the largest teaching monastery in the country, the Mahagandayon Monastery. We also visit the longest teak bridge in the world, the U Bein Bridge set over the enchanting Taungthaman Lake, and the Mahamuni Temple, home to an ancient bronze Buddha image. The afternoon is spent exploring the Royal Palace, the teak carvings of the historic Shwenandaw Monastery and the world’s largest book at the Kuthodaw Pagoda. Our day concludes with Mandalay Hill and depending on the time, a spectacular sunset with vistas across the city.

Day 7: Mandalay

The morning begins with a one hour boat journey to Mingun, a village on the west bank of the river. Here, explore Pahtodawgyi Pagoda, Mingun bell and Myatheintan Pagoda. Our afternoon is spent exploring the Soon-Oo-Pon-Nya-Shin & U-Min-Thonw-Sae Pagodas. Then take a tour of Sagaing visiting the famous Sagaing Hill, a retreat for Buddhist devotees. Then, U Min Thonesae and Soonooponyashin temples.

Day 8: Mandalay - Pindaya

This morning we catch a flight to Heho. Here, meet with our guide who will take you to explore the carved Buddha images of the Pindaya caves, the ancient Banyan tree and small local factories producing Mulberry paper and bamboo hats.

Day 9: Pindaya - Inle Lake

This morning we head out to visit a local market in Kalaw and RED MOUNTAIN ESTATE Vineyard & Winery, where you can enjoy some free time for lunch. After we we drive to the wonderful watery world of Inle Lake home to floating gardens, stilted villages and crumbling stupas. Touring the lake by boat we witness the unique rowing techniques of the local fishermen before visiting the unusual Nga Pe Chaung monastery where Buddhist monks have taught cats to jump through hoops and Inle Lake’s largest pagoda, the Paungdaw Oo pagoda.

Day 10: Inle Lake

Our local guide will take out on an excursion to Indein village on the western side of Inle Lake. You’ll visit the impressive Shwe Indein Pa-O complex affording magnificent views over the lake and walk through bamboo forest where local villagers bathe along the riverside.

Day 11: Inle Lake

This morning w set off early by boat and head south to experience the unspoiled culture and traditional lifestyle of the ethnic groups of Pao and Inthas in Sagar.

Day 12: Inle Lake - Ngapali

Today the allure of Burma's tropical shores can wait no longer. We fly south to Thandwe this morning where our driver waits to take you onto Nagapali Beach.

Days 13-16: Ngapali

Sit back, relax and enjoy some free time in tropical beach paradise.

Day 17: Ngapali

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Yangon where on arrival you can connect to your flight home.
