Day 1: Luang Prabang

Welcome to Laos! Arriving into Luang Prabang our local representative will transfer you to your hotel. Spend the afternoon and evening at your leisure.

Day 2: Luang Prabang

We commence our sightseeing tour of this enchanting city, starting with a visit to the oldest temple in Luang Prabang, Wat Visoun, and the banyan tree graced grounds of Wat Aham, and we also stop at the Ock Pop Tok weaving centre. Later we marvel at the former Royal Palace, now a national museum and home to gilded rooms and Buddha artefacts. In the afternoon we stop at ethnic minority villages before arriving at the beautiful Khouangsi waterfall. Dip in the turquoise pools or take a walk along the forest trails. Tonight enjoy dinner at the Tamarind Cafe.

Day 3: Luang Prabang

Today a visit to the mysterious Pak Ou caves. Crammed with Buddha images of all shapes and sizes, these two caves stand in the lower part of a limestone cliff overlooking the river. Also enjoy a visit to the rural villages of Ban Xanghai and Ban Phanom, and area outside of Luang Prabang where Kipling wrote the Jungle Book where we visit the Tiger Sanctuary. This evening enjoy a Baci welcome and supper with a local family before returning to your hotel in Luang Prabang.

Day 4: Luang Prabang - Vang Vieng

Today we drive to Vang Vieng, winding our way through Kasi and Phoukhoune. On arrival at Vang Vieng, we cross the Nam Song River to visit the famous caves of Tham Jang, which was once used by the local people as a hideout from Chinese invaders. We also cross the river to Ban Huai Ngai, a very pleasant village where we can explore the different lifestyles of the locals. Upon leaving Vang Vieng, the roads begin to deteriorate; however the stunning mountain scenery makes for an interesting journey.

Day 5: Vang Vieng - Vientiane

Today we visit the small and tranquil village of Vang Vieng, which is nestled on a bend of the Nam Song River. Its stunning scenery with a mixture of quiet water and limestone outcrops remains unspoiled, despite recent developments with the advent of tourism. After checking into your hotel we take a wander to catch our first glimpse of this peaceful hill town. We then drive to a starting point further north of Vang Vieng for our fun tubing (rafting or kayaking are also available) on Nam Song River back to Van Vieng; after a short rest and refreshing up, we then drive to the Capital of Vientiane.

Day 6: Vientiane

This morning enjoy a short exploration of the charming and laid-back capital of Laos with a city tour by Tuk Tuk. After some free time for shopping, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home; Farewell to Laos.
