Ever fancied being a cosmonaut? Well, for one day you can be - experience zero gravity, weightlessness or even experience the stars as you see the roundness of the earth! Zero Gravity or (pure weightlessness) is somewhat similar to the feeling experienced whilst riding a rollercoaster. Also fly the MIG-29, one of the advanced combat airplanes in the Russian Air Force.

Star city Centrifuge

STAR CITY CENTRIFUGE

A centrifuge is used for simulating both high Gravity load and physiological weightlessness, mimicking flight dynamics and sustained Gs of a rocket-powered flight to the edge of space. It is used to carry out training and medical examination of cosmonauts and military pilots, scientific experiments and tests of space, aviation and scientific equipment prototypes. The world’s largest centrifuge, the TsF-18, is at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center and was built to generate up to 10 times the force of gravity. You will experience the immense force of gravity as it simulates a Soyuz rocket launch until reaching the orbit of the ISS and the re-entry into Earth’s atmosphere - the mobile cab is at the end of a long arm and revolves at high speeds to simulate the conditions.

Star City Zero gravity

STAR CITY ZERO GRAVITY

Feeling like a cosmonaut, you will achieve Zero Gravity onboard the fuselage of an aerobus IL-76 MDK.

Zero Gravity or (pure weightlessness) is somewhat similar to the feeling experienced whilst riding a rollercoaster. The manoeuvre is carried out when the aircraft accends sharply at a 45 degree ‘nose high’ angle. Next the plane is leveled then start to descend. At this point we reach the zero-gravity segment of the flight. For the next 20 - 25 seconds everything in the plane is weightless. At approximately 30 degrees ‘nose low’ a gentle pull-out is started which allows the passengers (us) to stabilize on the aircraft floor. After stabilizing the manoeuvre is then repeated. During the 1 1/2hour flight you will undergo 15 sessions of Zero Gravity, each time lasting some 25 seconds with total duration of 6 minutes.

SPACE FLIGHT

Want to fly into space? MIG-29 is one of the advanced combat airplanes in the Russian Air Force. It was designed for gaining the air superiority. MIG- 29 “Fulcrum” aircraft was put into service in 1985. Being one of the most advanced airplanes in the world, it has turbojet engines, possesses an advantageous proportion of mass and power, an excellent aerodynamics and a wonderful view from the cockpit. All these above characteristics make the aircraft maximum effective in an aerial combat. Comparable on size and assigned tasks with the American F-16 and F/A-18 fighters, the MIG - 29 is presently in the service of 23 countries of the world.
