Day 1: Colombo - Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka and the start of your holiday! Arrive Colombo airport by ur friendly local team and you will be transferred to Negombo beach, to check into your hotel.
Day 4: Negombo - Sigiriya
This morning we leave for Sigiriya – En route our first stop will be a visit to the Elephant orphanage in Pinnawela - This orphanage is the home for about 89 elephants, out of which some are baby elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. Next, a visit to the impressive Dambulla Rock Temple. Dambulla is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. We then drve to your hotel in Sigiriya.
Day 5: Sigiriya
After breakfast we explore the UNESCO World Heritage Listed, 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). This afternoon we enjoy a tour of Polonnaruwa - Which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and is also a world heritage site. When ready we return to your hotel in Sigiriya.
Day 6: Sigiriya - Kandy
This morning we make depart and then make a stop to visit a Spice Garden in Matale while driving en route to Kandy. This afternoon in the scenic lakeside town of Kandy, embark upon a sightseeing tour, visiting the bazaar, the arts & crafts centre and a gem museum. In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and then enjoy a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing.
Day 7: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
En route to Nuwara Eliya – a scenic hillside town with a distinctly English flavour, visit a tea plantation and enjoy a tasty cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. In Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort, enjoy a sightseeing tour this evening, including a visit to Hakgala Gardens.
Day 8: Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park
Continuing to Yala National Park, en route we visit the Mahayana Buddhist rock sculptures at Buduruwagala. This evening, we enjoy a jeep safari. The largest national park in Sri Lanka, Yala is home to elephants, wild boar, buffalo, leopard, crocodile and myriad birdlife.
Day 9: Yala National Park - Galle
This morning we drive to and visit the town of Galle with it’s 17th century fort. Within the fort, are narrow streets filled with churches and colonial buildings.
Day 10: Galle - Bentota and Beruwala
Departing Galle we drive to your final stop in Sri Lanka - Bentota Beach. Arrival and check into your hotel.
Days 11-12: Bentota and Beruwala
For today and tomorrow, enjoy at leisure in Bentota, an ideal tropical beach with it's sparkling warm blue seas and a lush fringe of palm trees, all bathed in warm golden sunshine.
Day 13: Bentota and Beruwala
Today we travel via the coast road to Colombo and onward departure transfer to the airport. End of arrangements.
