Welcome to Sri Lanka and the start of your holiday! You'll be met at Colombo Airport and transferred straight to Kandy. Afternoon proceed on a sightseeing tour of Kandy – Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing.
Morning we visit Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Proceed to Kithulgala – This is the breathtaking scenery used for the filming of the Oscar-winning classic “The Bridge over the River Kwai” by David Lean. Then we depart by car where en route to Nuwara Eliya – a scenic hillside town with a distinctly English flavour, we visit a tea plantation and enjoy a tasty cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. In Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort, enjoy a sightseeing tour this evening, including a visit to Hakgala Gardens.
This morning we drive to Uda Waluwe. Arrival and check in. This evening proceed on a Jeep Safari to visit the Uda-Walawe National Park – This national park was established in 1972 to protect the catchment area of the Uda Walawe reservoir, crucial to the livelihoods of the farmers in the south east dry zone.
Proceed to Yala arrival and check into your hotel. Afternoon proceed on a Jeep Safari to visit the Yala National Park - This park is famous for its high density of leopards, perhaps the highest in the world. You are also sure to see elephants.
Breakfast at Hotel – Leave for Galle – Proceed on a sightseeing tour of Galle – The Galle fort was built first by the Portuguese, and then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even today, after 400 years of existence, it looks new and polished with reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. Today Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world.On completion - Check into your hotel for an evening at leisure.
Breakfast at hotel – Morning proceed to Mirissa for Whale Watching. (Please be present at 0615Hrs at the main entrance as the boat leaves at 0630Hrs. The whale watching expedition takes approximately 03 ½ to 04 Hours).
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Galle.
Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Bentota– En route visit a Turtle Hatchery. Arrival and check into your hotel for remainder of the day at leisure.
The days ahead are yours to enjoy at leisure in Bentota, an ideal tropical beach with its sparkling warm blue seas and a lush fringe of palm trees, all bathed in warm golden sunshine.
Today we drive to Colombo enjoy sightseeing - Drive through the Commercial area of the “Fort” so named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch had a Fort at this point. Drive passed “Pettah” – a noisy Oriental bazaar with a hotchpotch of Humanity, ancient vehicles, bargains, mosques & temples. Visit Hindu temple & drive pass Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque, Continue the tour through the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law courts, to the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens and on to the Independence Square and Bandaranayke Memorial International Conference Hall. And also visit Gangaramaya Temple. Continue to your hotel in Wattala.
We will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
