Day 1: Colombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka. We will meet you on arrival at the Bandaranayke International airport & transfer to Colombo to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Galle Face Hotel "Colonial Concept" (Regency Wing - Oceanic Balcony Suite)

Day 2: Colombo - Galle

Leave for Galle – Visit the Galle Dutch Fort - The Galle fort was built first by the Portuguese, and then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even today, after 400 years of existence, it looks new and polished with reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. Today Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world. Day 3: Galle

Day 4: Galle

Enjoy a scenic cruise along the Madhu River, a relaxing trip with plenty of interesting stops. You pass dozens of islets forested with mangroves and can appreciate the timeless natural rhythms of rural life. You cruise in a canopied, outboard motor powered boat; pausing to view a 200-year-old temple & to watch the locals cultivating cinnamon. You may also see traditional fishing techniques in action & can view demonstrations of coir manufacture and rope making.

Breakfast at hotel – Rest of the day at leisure ** However as an option: You could have a whale watching expedition- starts at 0630hrs in Mirissa and approximately takes 03 to 03 ½ Hours. Day 8: Galle - Kandy

This morning we leave for Kandy - En route visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela - This orphanage is the home for about 89 elephants, out of which some are baby elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. We may also accompany the elephants to a river close-by and see them having their daily bath. Day 9: Kandy

Enjoy breakfast then proceed on a sightseeing tour of Kandy. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, and is a World Heritage Site. The name Kandy conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre and a gem museum and a lapidary.Return to the hotel - en-route visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing.

Day 10: Kandy - Colombo

This morning we leave for Colombo, check into your hotel and get ready for an afternoon sightseeing Tour of Colombo. Driving through the Commercial area of the “ Fort” so named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch had a Fort at this point. Drive passed “Pettah” – a noisy Oriental bazaar with a hotchpotch of Humanity, ancient vehicles, bargains, mosques & temples. Visit Hindu temple & drive pass Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque, Continue the tour through the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law courts, to the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens and on to the Independence Square and Bandaranayake Memorial International Conference Hall and also visit Gangarama Temple. Day 11: Colombo

This morning we bid you farewell. We will transfer you to the airport to connect with your onward flight.
