Day 1: Habarana

Welcome to Sri Lanka and the start of your holiday! Arriving into Colombo Airport our local team await to meet you and drive you to your hotel in Habarana.

Day 2: Habarana

This morning we head to Sigiriya and explore the famous ‘Lion Rock’ fortress. Built over 1500 years ago, this beautiful citadel stands 200 meters high in the middle of verdant jungle and was an important stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. After exploring this ancient site we continue on to Polonnaruwa. This fascinating 11th century city is home to many interesting ruins and famous monuments including the Royal Palace and the Gal Vihara. Polonnaruwa was once the capital and is also the second most ancient city in Sri Lanka. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3: Habarana - Kandy

This morning we head to Kandy, stopping to explore Sri Lanka’s most impressive cave temples, the Dambulla Rock Temple. This stunning complex of 5 caves contains over 150 images of Buddha including an impressive 14 metre statue carved out of the cave rock. Once we’ve fully explored the rock we continue on to a spice garden. Here we learn about some of Sri Lanka’s famous spices, how they are grown and what they are used in. Later on this evening we visit the world famous Temple of the Tooth Relic, home to one of Buddha’s teeth before attending a traditional cultural evening complete with fire walkers!

Day 4: Kandy

Today we visit the famous Pinnawala elephant orphanage where we meet some of the 89 abandoned elephants, many of which are babies. On our return to Kandy we stop by the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens home to an amazing variety of plants, flowers and trees. Once back in Kandy itself we embark on a city tour, drive around the lake and visit local bazaars and a local gem museum.

Day 5: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

Today you will be dropped off at the train station for the scenic journey to Nuwara Eliya. Enjoy passing spectacular mountains, waterfalls and jungle as the train makes its way. Arriving into town, meet your local driver/guide who await your arrival to transfer to your hotel. Later this evening you will be driven to the base of Adams Peak for the 4-5 hours ascent to the top (Start 2AM)

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya

Get ready to be amazed arriving at the summit in time for sunrise you will see the clouds dispell to reveal incredible scenery. Take as long as you like to enjoy the views before making your way down and driving back to Nuwara Eliya for a day to recover after the hike.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya

Early morning we will be driving you to Kitulgala and dropped off at the whitewater centre for you to enjoy a full day of whitewater rafting. We will collect you and drive you back to Nuwara Eliya when your day of fun on the water is complete.

Day 8: Nuwara Eliya - Galle

This morning we head to Galle. Arriving here, your guide will take you to explore the city with its colonial buildings and fort.

Day 9: Galle

Enjoy the full day to explore Galle at your leisure. Late afternoon we will transfer you to your beach hotel in Mirissa - Staying at the Mandara Resort.

Days 10-13: Galle

Enjoy the next days at leisure in Mirissa, an ideal tropical beach with it's sparkling warm blue seas and a lush fringe of palm trees, all bathed in warm golden sunshine you can book diving locally with one of the many operators.

Day 14: Galle

Sadly your journey has come to an end, we will transfer you to Colombo Airport in time for your flight home.
