Day 1: Negombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka! You will be met at Colombo airport and transferred to our beachfront hotel in Negombo, a small town just north of Colombo. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the Jetwing beach in a Deluxe room.

Day 2: Negombo

Today is a free day with a chance to the beach in Negombo. Overnight at the Jetwing beach in a Deluxe room.

Day 3: Negombo - Sigiriya

After breakfast we travel to Kandalama. Once checked in we proceed in the afternoon to Polonnaruwa – Which was the 2nd capital City of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which is a world Heritage site. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya – where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in ‘Upright’, ‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out of rock, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, king Parakramabahu’s statue, and the Parakrama Samudraya lake built by King Parakramabahu the great. Return to hotel, overnight at the Heritance Kandalama in a Panoramic room.

Day 4: Sigiriya

After breakfast we enjoy a sightseeing tour of Anuradhapura a fascinating ancient city of the Sinhala kings, the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of ancient Sri Lanka. Sri Maha Bodhi (Sacred Bo-Tree) was brought to Sri Lanka as a sapling from the tree under which Buddha is said to have become enlightened, at over 2,200 years old it is the oldest historically documented tree in the world. The 1600 stone columns of Brazen Palace (2nd century B.C), which are all that is left of a magnificent multi-storied residence for monks. Thuparama Dagoba (3rd century B.C) - the oldest Dagoba in the island. Overnight at the Heritance Kandalama in a Panoramic room.

Day 5: Sigiriya

Breakfast at hotel – Experience the thrill of an elephant back safari in Habarana for about one hour. Each elephant will be able to carry 05 adults in a Howdy or Basket. Once the guest mount on Elephants, they will be taken deep in to the jungle, accompanied by a Mahout. Late afternoon proceed to Sigiriya - Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock Fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD). The’ Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, Rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the Base of the rock. Overnight at the Heritance Kandalama in a Panoramic room.

Day 6: Sigiriya - Kandy

After breakfast we proceed to Dambulla Rock Temple - Climb up to the temple, which was donated by king Walagambahu in the 1st century BC to Buddhist monks. Dambulla is a World Heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. These caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock spanning 14 meters. Afterwards we continue you onto Kandy, In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Overnight at the Theva Residency in a Deluxe Room.

Day 7: Kandy

Breakfast at hotel – This morning we proceed to visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela - This Orphanage is the home for about 89 elephants, out of which some are baby Elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. On our return to Kandy we stop by the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens home to an amazing variety of plants, flowers and trees. Once back in Kandy itself we embark on a city tour, drive around the lake and visit local bazaars and a local gem museum. Overnight at the Theva Residency in a Deluxe Room.

Day 8: Kandy - Ella

Today we depart for Ella. Check in at hotel on arrival and rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the 98 Acres in a Deluxe Room.

Day 9: Ella

Today is a free day giving you the chance to relax or explore independently. Overnight at the 98 Acres in a Deluxe Room.

Day 10: Ella - Yala National Park

After Breakfast we depart for Yala. Check in at hotel on arrival and rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at the Cinnamon Wild Hotel in a Beach Chalet.

Day 11: Yala National Park

Morning game drive at the Yala National Park - This Park is famous for its high density of leopards, perhaps the highest in the world. You are also sure to see elephants – grumpy loan males during the dry months and large herds in the wet season. Sloth bears are also a big draw. You will also see mammal such as wild boars, several species of deer and wild buffalo. There is a plethora of reptilian species and platoons of crocodiles. As is common in Sri Lanka there is a huge diversity of stunning birdlife including migratory species such as the flamingo. Overnight at the Cinnamon Wild Hotel in a Beach Chalet.

Day 12: Yala National Park - Galle

After breakfast we have a morning drive to Galle. In the afternoon we proceed to Galle Fortress - The Galle fort was built first by the Portuguese, and then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even today, after 400 years of existence, it looks new and polished with reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. Today Sri Lankan government and many Dutch people who still own some of the properties inside the fort are looking at making this one of the modern wonders of the world. Overnight at the Tamarind Hill in a Crayford Room.

Day 13: Galle

Today is a free day giving you the chance to relax or explore independently. Overnight at the Tamarind Hill in a Crayford Room.

Day 14: Galle - Bentota and Beruwala

After breakfast we depart for the beach at Balapitiya. Rest of day at leisure, overnight at the Hotel Shinagawa in a Deluxe Room.

Day 15: Bentota and Beruwala

Day at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel Shinagawa in a Deluxe Room.

Day 16: Bentota and Beruwala

Day at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel Shinagawa in a Deluxe Room.

Day 17: Bentota and Beruwala

Day at leisure. Overnight at the Hotel Shinagawa in a Deluxe Room.

Day 18: Bentota and Beruwala
