Day 1: Colombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Upon arrival you will be met by our representatives and transferred to your accommodation. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Colombo.

Day 2: Colombo

After breakfast, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Colombo - Drive through the Commercial area of the “Fort” so named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch at one time held a fort here. Drive passed “Pettah” – a noisy Oriental bazaar with a mix of culture, bargains, mosques & temples. Visit a Hindu temple & drive pass Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque. Continue the tour through the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law courts, to the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens and on to the Independence Square and Bandaranayke Memorial International Conference Hall. And also visit Gangaramaya Temple. Spend the rest of the day of leisure. Overnight Colombo.

Day 3: Colombo

Spend today at your leisure to exploring Colombo your own way. The city of Colombo offers historical monuments, colonial architecture, festivals and events, beaches, fine dining, and shopping. Overnight Colombo.

Days 4-8: Colombo - Hikkaduwa

Today you travel by road from Colombo to the small southern coastal town of Hikkaduwa. Enjoy the next couple of days at your leisure relaxing on the beach. Overnight Hikkaduwa.

Day 9: Hikkaduwa - Dambulla

An early morning (0630Hrs) as you travel to the town of Dambulla with a packed breakfast. En Route visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela. Home for about 89 elephants, which some are baby elephants found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. The best time to visit is during the feeding times. Also you could accompany the elephants to the river and see them having their daily bath. Continue to Dambulla and climb up to the temple, which was donated by king Walagambahu. Dambulla is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceiling. These caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha. Day 10: Dambulla

This morning you will visit The ‘Lion Rock’ a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the jungle. This was the innermost stronghold of a fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the water gardens ring the base. Visit the frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. This afternoon go on a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa, which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya – where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in ‘Upright’, ‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out of rock. Day 11: Dambulla

After breakfast you will go on a sightseeing tour of Anuradhapura undoubtedly the grandest city of the ancient Sri Lanka. Sri Maha Bodhi (Sacred Bo-Tree) was brought as a sapling of the tree under which prince Siddhartha attained to enlightenment and it is over 2,200 years old. Ruwanweliseya is the most famous of all the Dagobas. It originally depicted the perfect ‘bubble shape" that modern restoration has not been able to accurately reproduce. Samadhi' Buddha statue is one of the most famous statues, depicting the Buddha in a state of deep meditation. Thuparama Dagoba is the oldest Dagoba in the island, which enshrines the right collarbone of the Buddha. Overnight Dambulla @ Heritance Kandalama Hotel.

Day 12: Dambulla - Nuwara Eliya

Leave for Nuwara Eliya – En route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. You will be told all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. On completion, proceed to Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here. This evening leave on a sightseeing tour of Nuwara Eliya – Drive through "Little England” Return to hotel for overnight stay. Overnight Nuwara Eliya.

Day 13: Nuwara Eliya

Breakfast at hotel – Spend the dat at leisure to explore the local area. Overnight Nuwara Eliya.

Day 14: Nuwara Eliya - Negombo

Today you travel to the commercial hub of Negombo upon arrival spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Negombo is known for it's huge and old fishing industry why not go explore the busy fish markets, and the nice sandy beaches. Overnight Negombo.

Day 15: Negombo

Today we say our good byes as we transfer you to the airport in time for your departure flight to your onward destination.
