Day 1: Colombo

Meet on arrival at the Bandaranayke International Airport by an Asian Adventures Representative & transfer to Colombo – Check in at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel 5* - (Deluxe Room) – Rest of the day at leisure - Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 2: Colombo

Breakfast at hotel – Proceed on a sightseeing tour of Colombo - Drive through the Commercial area of the “Fort” so named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch had a Fort at this point. Drive passed “Pettah” – a noisy Oriental bazaar with a hotchpotch of Humanity, ancient vehicles, bargains, mosques & temples. Visit Hindu temple & drive pass Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque, Continue the tour through the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law courts, to the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens and on to the Independence Square and Bandaranayke Memorial International Conference Hall. And also visit Gangaramaya Temple - Return to hotel for overnight stay

Day 3: Colombo

Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Arugambay – Check in at Stardust Beach Hotel 3* - (1st Floor Room) – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4:

Breakfast at hotel – Day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5:

Breakfast at hotel – Day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 6: - Habarana

Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Habarana – Check in at Cinnamon Lodge Hotel 5* - (Superior Room) – Rest of the day at leisure – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 7: Habarana

Breakfast at hotel – Proceed to Sigiriya - Climb the 5th century Sigiriya rock fortress, built by King Kashyapa. The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the jungle. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya. Afternoon proceed on a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa - Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya – where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in ‘Upright’, ‘Sedentary’ and ‘Recumbent’ postures carved out of rock. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as the Shiva Temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of a former Temple of the Tooth Relic.

Day 8: Habarana

Breakfast at hotel – Proceed on a sightseeing tour of Anuradhapura - It was the first capital and undoubtedly the grandest city of the ancient Sri Lanka. The Sacred Bo-Tree was brought as a sapling of the tree under which prince Siddhartha attained to enlightenment. At Brazen Palace, the 1600 stone columns you see are all that is left of a magnificent multi-storied residence for monks. Ruwanweliseya is the most famous of all the Dagobas. It originally depicted the perfect ‘bubble shape”. Thuparama Dagoba, which enshrines the right collarbone of Buddha. A grand stairway of 1,840 steps leads to the summit from where one could get a view of the surrounding countryside – Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 9: Habarana - Kandy

Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Kandy – En route visit the Dambulla Cave Temple - Climb up to the temple, which was donated by king Walagambahu in the 1st century BC to Buddhist monks. Dambulla is a World Heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves of painted walls and the ceiling is the largest area of paintings found in the world. These caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock spanning 14 meters. Also visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. Proceed to Kandy – Rest of the day at leisure.

Day 10: Kandy

Breakfast at hotel – Proceed to visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela - This orphanage is the home for about 89 elephants. The best time to visit is during the feeding times. Also accompany the elephants to a river and see them having their daily bath. Return to Kandy, en-route visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. After proceed on a sightseeing tour of Kandy. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Visit the Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre and a gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Return to hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Kandy

Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Nuwara Eliya – En route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Afterwards, proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala is located here. Evening leave for Adams Peak - Though not the highest mountain of Sri Lanka, the striking pyramid of Adam's Peak is certainly the most remarkable. A depression in the rocky summit resembles a huge footprint, which has been venerated as a sacred sigh from remote antiquity. This was identified by Buddhists as the Buddha's footprint, by Hindus as that of Shiva, and by Muslims as Adam's.

Day 12: - Nuwara Eliya

Once arrived down from Adams Peak, return back to Nuwara Eliya for Breakfast – Rest of the day at leisure at the hotel – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Nuwara Eliya - Yala National Park

Breakfast at hotel – Morning leave for Yala – Evening proceed on a Jeep Safari to visit the Yala National Park - This park is famous for its high density of leopards, you are also sure to see elephants. You will also see mammal such as Sloth bears, wild boars, several species of deer and wild buffalo. There is a plethora of reptilian species and platoons of crocodiles. As is common in Sri Lanka there is a huge diversity of stunning birdlife including migratory species such as the flamingo and the severely endangered black necked stork. – Rest of the day at leisure – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 14: Yala National Park

Breakfast at hotel – Morning proceed on another Jeep Safari specially to see Leopards – On completion return back to the hotel – Rest of the day at leisure – overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 15: Yala National Park - Ratnapura

Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Ratnapura - The gem-mining centre of Sri Lanka is also a major crossroad between southern plains and the hill country to the east. A bustling market city servicing most of the surrounding towns, many of the prominent gem dealers in Sri Lanka operate from this town. Scenery around the town is excellent and charming – Rest of the day at leisure to explore the vicinity – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 16: Ratnapura - Negombo

Breakfast at hotel – Leave for Negombo – Rest of the day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 17: Negombo

Breakfast at hotel – Day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 18: Negombo

Breakfast at hotel – Day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 19: Negombo

Breakfast at hotel – Day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 20: Negombo

Breakfast at hotel – Day at leisure on the beach – Overnight stay at the hotel.
