Day 1: Negombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day recovering from your flight. Overnight Negombo.

Day 2: Negombo

Today relax by the beach as you spend it at your leisure. Overnight Negombo.

After Breakfast leave for Trincomalee. Overlooking the Kottiyar Bay, Trincomalee is one of the main centers of Tamil speaking culture on the island. The city is home to the famous ancient Koneswaram temple alluded to in its historic Tamil name Thirukonamalai from which its anglicized name is derived, and has been a sea port that has played a major role in the maritime and international trading history of Sri Lanka. It is referred to as Gokanna in Pali or Gokarna in Sanskrit. Upon arrival enjoy the rest of the leisure. Overnight Tirncomalee.

Day 4: Trincomalee

Today enjoy a sightseeing tour of Trincomalee – On completion return back to the hotel – Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure – Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Trincomalee - Habarana

Leave Trincomalee and travel to Habarana. Later partake on a Jeep Safari to visit the Minneriya National Park. The park is a great place for elephant spotting all year round – though as the dry season makes water scarce between, more and more elephants gather on the shores of Minneriya Tank. By late August, the awe inspiring site of up to 300 elephants can often be seen, in a phenomenon known as ‘The Gathering’. It is the largest concentration and gathering of Asian elephants that can be seen anywhere in the world. Aside from the elephant, Minneriya is also home to some 23 other species of mammals: some, like the Deer and Sambur you will see, some like the Leopard and the Sloth Bear will probably prove elusive. Overnight Habarana.

Day 6: Habarana - Mount Lavinia

This morning you leave Habarana and travel to Mount Lavinia. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Moun Lavinia.

Day 7: Mount Lavinia

Enjoy a nice sleep in as you spend today at your leisure relaxing on the beach. Overnight Mount Lavinia. (Vehicle not at disposal)

Day 8: Mount Lavinia

Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Colombo - Drive through the Commercial area of the “Fort” so named, because both the Portuguese and Dutch had a Fort at this point. Drive passed “Pettah” – a noisy Oriental bazaar with a hotchpotch of Humanity, ancient vehicles, bargains, mosques & temples. Visit Hindu temple & drive pass Jumi-UL Alfar Jumma Mosque, Continue the tour through the Wolvendaal Dutch Church, Hultsdorf Law courts, to the residential area of Cinnamon Gardens and on to the Independence Square and Bandaranayke Memorial International Conference Hall. And also visit Gangaramaya Temple. On completion return back to the hotel Overnight Mount Lavinia.
