The town and countryside around it, is lush and green and there are many pleasant walk both from the town or further afield. The town centre, close of Kandy’s picture sue lake set in a bowl if hills, is a delightful jumble of old shops, antique and gemstones specialists, a bustling market and a good selection of hotels, guesthouses and restaurants. Today you travel to Yala National park famous for its high density of leopards. Upon arrival enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Yala National Park.
Enjoy a game drive here. You are also sure to see elephants. Sloth bears are also a big draw. As is common in Sri Lanka there is a huge diversity of stunning birdlife including migratory species such as the flamingo. The uniqueness of the park is the sheer diversity of the habitat: dense jungles suddenly give way to lagoons and open plain areas and the park has a simply beautiful sea front. Huge, stark boulders dominate the horizon and the elegant, languorous leopard can often be seen basking atop the sun baked rock. Afternoon leave for Galle. Overnight Galle
