Welcome to Sri Lanka a world of lush verdant jungles, cool mountains and ancient ruins. You will be met on arrival by our representative tranferred to your hotel.
Sigiriya is our destination today: En route we will visit the Elephant Orphanage in Pinnawela - This orphanage is the home for about 89 elephants. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. If time permits accompany the elephants to a river close-by and see them having their daily bath. Spend the rest of the day at leisure in Sigiriya – Overnight Sigiriya
This Morning we venture to the 5th century rock fortress of Sigiriya. The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 meters from the jungle. Visit the frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. Afterwards we leave for Kandy – En route visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. Spend the afternoon on a sightseeing tour of the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. Drive around the Lake built by the last Sinhala king. Visit the Bazaar, a gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Overnight Kandy.
This morning we head to the Peradeniya Railway Station to board the observation train leaving for Nanu Oya - This dramatic ride will offer views of some of the magnificent sites of Sri Lanka. Experience breathtaking views of stunning waterfalls and tunnels through the mountain side. Upon arrival at the Nanu Oya railway station, you will be met by our representatives and transferred to Nuwara Eliya. This Evening we visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. You will be told all about the process of manufacturing tea. You can also see how tea is graded. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Spend the rest of the day at leisure – Overnight Nuwara Eliya.
This morning after breakfast we leave of the National Park at Yala – This evening we proceed on a Jeep Safari to visit the Yala National Park - This park is famous for its high density of leopards, perhaps the highest in the world. You are also sure to see, sloth bears, wild boars, several species of deer and wild buffalo and if you have keen eye you may spy a languorous leopard basking atop the sun baked rock. After you Safari is completed we return back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure – Overnight Yala NP @ CHAAYA WILD 4*
Today we leave for the beach town of Bentota En route enjoy a sightseeing tour of Galle - The Galle fort was built first by the Portuguese, and then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even after 400 years this fort still looks new and polished. Later we continue onto Bentota via Kosgoda to visit the Turtle Hatchery. Spend the rest of the day at leisure – Overnight Bentota
This morning enjoy a scenic cruise along the Madhu River. A relaxing trip with plenty of interesting stops along the way. You pass dozens of islets forested with mangroves and can appreciate the timeless natural rhythms of rural life. We cruise pausing to view a 200-year-old temple & to watch the locals cultivating cinnamon. You may also see traditional fishing techniques in action & can view demonstrations of coir manufacture and rope making. After today is through we return back to the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure – Overnight Bentota.
Today we say goodbye to Bentota and travel to Negombo – Upon arrival spend the Rest of the day at leisure, go and explore the old Dutch Fort or the fish market – Overnight Negombo.
Today we bid you farewell as we transfer you to the airport to connect with the departure flight and your onward adventures.
