Day 1: Colombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka and the start of your exploration of an Indian Ocean Paradise! Arrive Colombo airport and our friendly local rep awaits to transfer you to your hotel. OVERNIGHT AT THE Galle Face Hotel - Heritage Wing

Day 2: Colombo - Sigiriya

After breakfast at hotel, we travel to Sigiriya and check into your hotel. This afternoon we visit the elevated and mysterious 5th century fortress ruins of King Kasyapa. The ‘Lion Rock’ is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the ‘Heavenly Maidens’ of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. Day 3: Sigiriya

This morning we visit Aukana - The 5th century statue, ascribed to King Datusena, is 13 metres high and home to the most perfectly preserved ancient statue in Sri Lanka. Then we visit ancient Polonnaruwa, an 11th century city of compact size. We explore the ruins of the Royal Palace, temples and Gal Vihara which boasts 3 enormous Buddha figures. Day 4: Sigiriya - Kandy

Today we head onto Kandy. En route see the impressive Dambulla Rock Temple which contain beautiful frescoes of Buddha. Thereafter, visit a spice garden in Matale to see the different spices, which Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed. This evening we visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and enjoy a performance of traditional Sri Lankan dancing. OVERNIGHT AT THE Kandy House Hotel.

Day 5: Kandy

This morning we visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, home for about 89 elephants, some of which were found abandoned in the wild. We continue onto visit to the ruined temples of Embekke, Gadaladeniya and Lankatilleke and the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Back in Kandy, a scenic lakeside town, we visit the lake, bazaar, gem museum and lapidary. Tonight, we visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. After, we enjoy a cultural dance show. Day 6: Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

This morning you will be driven to Kandy Train Station for the scenic train ride to Nuwara Eliya (1st class air-conditioned reserved seats) Arriving into Nuwara Eliya around 13:00 the driver awaits to transfer you to your hotel. After check in, enjoy a visit to the Hakgala Gardens and a drive through Little England - OVERNIGHT AT The Jetwing St Andrews Hotel.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya - Unawatuna

This morning we enjoy a visit to a Tea Plantation to learn all about the growing and processing of Tea. We then drive you to your hotel on the beach in Unawatuna - OVERNIGHT AT The Frangipani Tree Hotel.

Days 8-11: Unawatuna

For the next days enjoy time at your leisure. OVERNIGHTS AT The Frangipani Tree Hotel.

Day 12: Unawatuna - Galle

This morning we drive to Galle. Here, we visit the town and it’s 17th century fort. Within the fort, are narrow streets filled with churches and colonial buildings. We then continue to your hotel. OVERNIGHT AT THE Galle Fort Hotel.

Days 13-14: Galle

Today and tomorrow is yours to enjoy at leisure in Galle, an ideal tropical beach with it's sparkling warm blue seas and a lush fringe of palm trees, all bathed in warm golden sunshine. OVERNIGHT AT THE Galle Fort Hotel.

Day 15: Galle

Sadly your journey comes to conclusions today, we will be sure to transfer you to Colombo Airport in time for your flight home.
