Day 1: Yala National Park

This morning our local team will collect you from your accommodation and transfer you to Kataragama and assist with check-in at the Rosen Hotel. In the early evening, enjoy a jeep safari in Yala National Park. Yala is famous for its high density of leopards, perhaps the highest in the world. You are also sure to see elephants – grumpy loan males during the dry months and large herds in the wet season. Sloth bears are also a big draw. You will also see mammal such as wild boars, several species of deer and wild buffalo. There is a plethora of reptilian species and platoons of crocodiles. As is common in Sri Lanka there is a huge diversity of stunning bird-life including migratory species such as the flamingo.

Day 2: Yala National Park - Udawalawe N.P. and Embilipitiya

After breakfast at the hotel, we head out on another jeep safari to Bundala National Park. The terrain is generally flat with sand dunes bordering the coastline, and vegetation consists mainly of dry thorny scrubland and lagoons. A total of 383 plant species have been recorded from the park; it is also home to 32 different species of mammals. We then continue onto Udawalawe and the Elephant Transit Home, set up in 1995 as a pilot project by the Department of Wildlife Conservation to look after the abandoned baby elephants until they are able to take care of themselves. This evening enjoy a Jeep Safari to visit the Udawalawe National Park.

Day 3: Udawalawe N.P. and Embilipitiya - Galle

This morning enjoy another safari on in Udawalawe National Park before we drive along the coast to Mirissa and check in at the Paradise Beach Club. The rest of the day is free for you to relax.

Day 4: Galle

Early this morning, you need to be at the Whale Watching Centre by 6.15 as per the regulations provided by the Whale Watching Company. After formalities and safety briefing, enjoy 03 ½ to 04 hours viewing these magnificent mammals. Back on land, we then proceed to Galle and an afternoon at leisure.

Day 5: Galle - Colombo

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Colombo, en route visiting Galle Fort. First built by the Portuguese, and then modified by the Dutch during the 17th century, even today, after 400 years of existence, it looks new and polished with reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka.

Day 6: Colombo

After breakfast and hotel check out, we will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight home.
