Depending on the time of year, the world’s largest salt flats, outside Uyuni, are either dry and blindingly white, or water-logged providing perfect mirror images of the sky and clouds above and provide a surreal and treeless landscape. Hiding many beautiful sites and an array of wildlife, the flats also conceal many settlements and highlights including geysers, hot springs and flamingos.
