Day 1 - Upon arrival at Bangkok airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Bangkok has often been called the ‘Venice of the East’ thanks to its man-made canals. In the afternoon transfer to Chao Phraya River for an hour long boat ride along the Bangkok klongs (canals). Gain a fascinating insight into traditional Thai life as you pass houses on stilts, temples and schools along the waterways. End the day with a tasty traditional dinner and classical Thai dance performance.
Day 2 - After breakfast embark on a Bangkok city tour, starting with bustling Chinatown. Stop at the colourful flower market before visiting the spectacular Grand Palace and its Emerald Buddha Temple which is home to Thailand’s holiest Buddha image. Lunch is served by the river before continuing your tour of the city, taking in sights such as the United Nations, parliament and the residence of King Bhumiphol and Queen Sirikit, stopping later at a famous jewellery shop to see how the country’s precious gems are cut and prepared. The afternoon and evening is free for you to shop, independently explore the city and sample Bangkok’s thriving nightlife.
Day 3 - Arrangements end with a transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
