Day 1: Moscow
Welcome to Moscow - Russia’s lively capital city! Arrival transfer from Moscow Sheremetyevo or Domodedovo Airport to your hotel. Overnight - Moscow
Day 2: Red Square
Moscow. Spend the day at leisure, independently exploring the capital. Alternatively embark on an optional Moscow walking tour in the morning. On the tour travel to legendary Red Square by Metro for a guided walk taking in Moscow’s highlights. See the beautifully coloured St Basil’s Cathedral in all its glory, the historic GUM department store and if Lenin’s Mausoleum is open today, you can pay your respects to the grandfather of Communism himself! Day 3: Moscow
Moscow. Another free day to enjoy the sights. Moscow has a staggering array of art galleries, museums and shops as well as unique attractions such as famous Gorky Park. Tonight there is an included transfer to Yaroslavl rail station for train #004 express to Beijing. Overnight - train (B)

Days 4 - 8: On board train
Settle into life on board the Trans-Siberian Express as it plies its way across the Urals and large tracts of Siberia, following well-worn ancient tea caravan routes. Travelling via Irkutsk and skirting along the shores of breathtaking Lake Baikal, enjoy the views as your journey continues via far Eastern Siberia. The train branches off the main Trans-Siberian line at a place called Zaudinsky, which lies just beyond Ulan Ude.

In the evening of day 7 the train crosses the border into Mongolia reaching Ulaan Baatar, the laid-back capital of Mongolia the following morning. Continuing your journey, the train winds its way through the rolling foothills of the Bogd mountain range and landscapes of uninterrupted steppe before crossing the border into China in the evening of day 8 and edging closer to the nation’s capital - Beijing. Day 9: Beijing
Beijing - This afternoon the train reaches Beijing where your momentous journey ends. Consider extending your stay to explore China's bustling capital with our 3 day Beijing Stopover which includes guiding sightseeing taking in the highlights such as The Forbidden City and the legendary Great Wall of China.
