Our guide Hilke was such a trooper, we couldn't have had a better guide. She was out looking for the northern lights every night for hours for us and getting soaked leading the few brave travellers behind a huge waterfall without any complaint. She was always enthusiastic and ready with a fact, story or joke. Hilke really does deserves all the praise in the world! The tour was also fantastic, I felt like we got to see a good part of the west and south Icelandic coast without spending too much time in the coach. Accommodation was very comfortable and I would recommend this tour to anyone.”
Good day, we just returned from a fabulous 20 day tour of Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. The tour was top notch from the accomodations, buses, tours, to the people and the guides. We met many great friends from all over the world! We would like to nominate Winn, our Vietnam tour guide, for your person of the year. Winn was professional in every aspect, very punctual, answered all of our questions....unlimited knowledge on this very special country. He was friendly, fun, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Please join us in voting for Winn as tour guide of the year. ”
Our Nile River Cruise was excellent in every respect. From arrival in Cairo to departure from Cairo, we were comfortable, relaxed, and were always taken care of. The hotel in Cairo near the airport was perfect for our schedule. The airline connections Cairo/Luxor and Aswan/Cairo worked perfectly. The Cairo-based staff met us, chauffeured us around, got us where we needed to be on time and comfortably. The guide spoke both English and Japanese well.
Our guide on the Nile Cruise, Aamer Ibrahim, was a funny, knowledgable and very helpful guy with excellent english skills. He demonstrated great knowledge and pride in Egyptian culture, politics and heritage. He adjusted our itinerary every day to our preferences, making sure we saw the main sites but not pushing us too hard and letting us relax as much as we wished. The Nile ship was excellent, and we enjoyed our rooms very much. They were large for a cruise ship with balconies that we enjoyed much. The public areas of the ship were elegant. Service was superb, and we all gained weight eating too much. The daily excursions from the ship were arranged comfortably and efficiently, and we enjoyed them a great deal, including the horse-drawn carriage rides, sailing on the river in a falucca and of course the visits to historical sites.
We were fully satisfied with all the arrangements. Please pass along these comments to the Egyptian staff. Thank you for your assistance in making the reservations.
I received your e-mail details from your call centre.
My sister and I completed the above-mentioned tour in December 2014 and it was fantastic in every sense of the word. We both believe it is the best tour we have ever experienced to date and would recommend it to others.
During our travels we were looked after by no less than 7 very competent tour guides, 2 in Thailand, 2 in Laos, 1 in Vietnam and 2 in Cambodia.
However one of these tour guides stands out head and shoulders above the rest and we would like to vote for this particular person to win the Tour Guide of the Year Award.
The person to whom we are referring is Mr Tran Tuan who took care of us through the Vietnam leg of our tour. Tuan is very passionate about the work he does and exceptionally knowledgeable. Furthermore, he has a wonderful sense of humour which was appreciated by every member of our group. We felt that he walked more than the extra mile to make our stay in Vietnam a very memorable occasion. Despite the reading we did in advance of our trip we both came home very enlightened by all the information that Tuan shared with us about Vietnam. His students are very lucky to have such a committed man guiding them through their studies in tourism.
So please pass on our huge vote of confidence to those involved in making those important decisions on recognition and reward. ”
When my sister and I decided to embark on the Festive King Ramses trip to Egypt to celebrate her 30th birthday, I didn't know what to expect, but I knew I would have a great experience, considering it was one of the top five places I had always dreamed of traveling to. It was also the first tour group I had been part of and I was excited and anxious to be in a different country over Christmas and the new year.
On the first day, our tour guide, Haytham briefed us on the plan for the next two weeks. He was very thoughtful to give us all Santa hats to wear to help with being away from home for the holidays. He also mentioned On The Go's policy that if there was anything he could do to make our stay more enjoyable, he would do it if it was possible. Throughout the entire trip, he more than lived up to this promise.
Over the next few days, we toured dozens of iconic pyramids and temples. At each site, Haytham did an exceptional job of telling us detailed stories and facts about the history behind everything. He has a true gift in the way he shares information to convey all of the glory and splendor that the pyramids and temples hold. Listening to his explanations, I felt in awe of the accomplishments of the ancient Egyptians and often found myself imagining/wishing I was there when all the structures were being built.
One of the highlights of the trip was sailing down the Nile on a Felucca over Christmas. I really appreciated that Haytham made an extra effort to order a Turkey for a delicious Christmas Eve feast and stay up to wish everyone aboard a Merry Christmas at midnight. Also, supplying wi-fi, arranging transport for extra activities, celebrating birthdays, and being available 24/7 to socialize or answer any questions we had was much appreciated and helped to make the trip special.
Overall, I had a great experience with On The Go Tours and the trip was better than anything I could've ever imagined. Thanks to Haytham and the organization of the tour, I never once felt unsafe or felt like I wanted more out of the trip. Haytham's passion and constant high energy really shined through and contributed to the trip of a lifetime. By the end of the trip, I was sad to go home wishing I could have spent more time in Egypt.
Upon returning home, I have been recommending On The Go Tours and traveling to Egypt to my friends and sharing my positive experience. I'm so thankful to have had the opportunity to go to Egypt and to have had such an awesome tour guide! I hope Egypt has a return to higher levels of tourism in the near future so more people can experience all the awe inspiring sites and rich culture that Egypt has to offer. And now if I can just get over this never ending jet-lag... ”
I just wanted to write and thank you for organising our unforgettable trip to Egypt. We had the most amazing time and will treasure our memories of it.
The representative of On The Go were wonderful - they looked after our every need and often went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had the best experience. Our guide Ahmed Helal was excellent. His thorough knowledge of Egyptology was evident and he managed to convey information in a very skilful way, introducing a subject and later picking it up so that our knowledge deepened and the things that we saw made more sense as we put it all into context. He also ensured that we had the best experience of our tour, seeing temples and picking out details that we would never have seen otherwise.
Ahmed was not only a wonderful and incredibly knowledgable guide but he was also excellent at getting things done. He sorted out all practical details pf our stay, making sure that we had adjoining rooms etc in such a way that we had a very comfortable and wonderful experience. He made sure that we always knew where he was so that we could contact him if we needed to, so we had no concerns of any kind throughout the trip.
In Cairo we were excellently looked after by Abdul, who took us to Khan al-Khalili Bazaar on our last night, which gave us a truly memorable end to our stay. Abdul (Midou) was so much fun and very charming and we all really enjoyed his company.
The tour itself was incredible and the variety of location and what they had to offer meant that each day brought a fresh marvel! The Pyramids and Sphinx were phenomenal - to actually be was amazing. The camel rides were great fun too! Visiting Aswan and sailing on the Nile to visit the Nubian village was an unexpected hi-light for me. The Nile is such a beautiful river! Luxor blew us all away - it is just such an incredible place. The Valley of the Kings has such an eerie desolation about it, and we were lucky enough tho find Tutankamun's tomb open so fulfilled a lifelong wish to visit that. That night we visited Luxor Temple in the evening, which was magical. We had a hot air balloon ride the next morning and then visited Karnak. Each day enriched the others and it gave us a very full and many layered experience.
The journey to Hurghad was another unexpected high point - discovering the country and the change from lucy Nile valley to arid but beautully colourful desert was eye opening. Then the last few day spent in Hurghada was a wonderful way to digest and relax, and very popular with our teenage children. The snorkelling was out of this world!
All the hotel we stayed in were amazing in different ways, but Hurghada was so much fun, and the staff were very friendly. The food was great throughout and the rooms luxurious and comfortable.
Thank you once again for a truly wonderful experience. We would not hesitate to recommend it to everyone and will be telling our friends all about it!
With very best regards ”
I accompanied a group of 25 people to Luang Prabang, Vang Vieng and Vientiane. The itinerary was excellent. However, if we had the luxury of time, we would have added another day in Luang Prabang and another day in Van Vieng. We loved both areas and would have liked to spend more time in each. The drive from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng is extremely difficult, filled with twists and turns, and washed out road, but we enjoyed the scenery and glimpses of local life and would not have changed it. Accommodations and meals were excellent, as were all tours and activities included. We did add an elephant ride and feeding the monks which I would strongly recommend.
Pom was our guide. He did everything possible to ensure we maximized our time and our experiences while in Laos; fine-tuning our plans from day to day. He shared his love for his country, his people, and his culture with us and we were so fortunate to have him as our guide. He is kind, considerate and animated. His command of the English language is very good although some clients had difficulty at times understanding his commentary. I clarified a few key ideas and we were off and running. I would not hesitate to recommend the tour to other clients. ”
The On The Go Tour of Totally Morocco was outstanding. There were 7 folks on the tour, plus a driver and guide, in a comfortable 15-passenger van. The guide, Aziz Benyahia, was amazing. The driver was quite friendly. The local guides were great.
The schedule was busy, with about 10 hour days. We were "on the go" for the entire tour, as we covered 1700 km of Morocco. We had numerous great stops, site tours and got a detailed description of the country, culture, and history. We actually got out and saw the people and the country; we did not just drive by. Our tour was happy and we had fun. Many other tours we saw looked grumpy and probably not enjoying the country. We saw parts of Morocco that many tours did not see. We got out into many genuine markets and deep into parts of old towns. The best market was a rural market, for the local folks. We had lunch in a typical Berber household and afternoon tea in another typical Berber household.
We rode camels into the Sahara to watch the sun go down from the top of a sand dune. We then stayed in Berber tents 2 hours out in the desert; the only other guests in our camp were a couple from the Netherlands. Early the next morning we watched the sun come up from the top of one of the highest sand dunes. We looked down on three other groups, two groups did not even get off their camels, so they did not see the sunrise as well as we did.
Accommodation was great. All but hotel had bathtubs; all had great Wi-Fi, AC, and clean large rooms. Some had outstanding balconies with great views. The included breakfasts were similar with the breakfasts we had in Europe. We ate at authentic Moroccan restaurants. Some of the best restaurants we ate at were included in the tour cost. We loved the food. I would recommend On The Go Tours or any tours offered by Aziz, their guide. ”
