Day 2: Antalya - Cappadocia

Early morning departure for Konya, en route we visit the ancient theatre of Aspendos. Arriving at Konya, we tour the monastery of theMevlana whirling dervishes and the mausoleum of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi. A further stop is made along the Silk Road at the Seljuk - a fine example of an ancient Silk Road caravanserai.

Day 3: Cappadocia

Today we tour the stunning Cappadocia region - includes the World Heritage Listed Goreme Valley to see stunning examples of rock-cut Byzantine churches and chapels, Kaymakli Underground City and Uchisar Castle. Stopping on the outskirts of Goreme Village we have the opportunity to see Pigeon Valley where century’s old pigeon houses are carved into the surrounding cliffs. Here you will also have the opportunity to visit an Onyx shop, specialising in historic jewellery designs unique to Turkey and using local materials and craftsmen. For those not interested in shopping spend a little time relaxing and grab a drink from the local cafe. Enjoy a Turkish dinner and folklore evening.

Day 4: Cappadocia

Free day in Cappadocia - an extraordinary national treasure. The utter improbability of the seemingly surreal landscapes have to be seen to be believed, where whole troglodyte villages, subterranean churches and fortresses have been hewn from the soft, porous, eerily eroded rock of Cappadocia. The crumbling legacy of persecuted Christians trying to escape the Muslim onslaught in 1st - 10th centuries AD by effectively heading underground is one of Turkey’s finest attractions.

Day 5: Cappadocia

Pick-up from your hotel in Cappadocia and transfer to Nemrut, visiting a 13th century Caravsan inn en route. Stop for lunch and continue to Adiyaman. Overnight Adiyaman - Kahta Hotel

Day 6:

Continue to the ancient city of Arsemia, once the summer capital of the Kommagene Kingdom. Visit the ruins of the Roman Cendere bridge, over 200 years old and parts of which are still in use today. Continue to the mystical pilgrimage town of Urfa, stopping at the massive Ataturk Dam along the way. Later in the afternoon visit Abraham’s cave and the holy pools of carp that attract pilgrims from all over the world. The day concludes with a visit to Harran, famous for its beehive houses. Overnight Urfa - Edessa Hotel
