Day 1: Istanbul
Welcome Istabul the only city in the world that stands in two different continents, Europe and Asia. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representatives and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 2: Istanbul - Cappadocia
Enjoy a half day sightseeing tour of Istanbul where we will marvell at the six minarets of the Iconic 17th Century Blue Mosque. We will also visit the ancient Hippodrome with Obelisk of Theodosius, originally the seventh pylon of the great temple of Karnak. We will also see the Snake Pillar and German Fountain of wilhelm II. Enjoy the afternoon free to explore this city maybe venture into the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar. Later this afternoon you will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival you will be transferred to you hotel. Overnight Cappadocia.
Day 3: Cappadocia
Whole troglodyte villages, subterranean churches and fortresses hewn from the soft, eroded volcanic rock have made Cappadocia one of Turkey’s finest attractions. Guided tour of the Goreme Valley, Zelve with its phallic-like eroded landscape of so-called ‘fairy chimneys’ and notable rock formations within the region. Later this afternoon we will take a short walk through "Love Valley". Overnight Cappadocia
Day 4: Cappadocia
After breakfast take a walk toward debateably the most beautiful Valley in Cappadoica, with is red rock formations "The Red Valley" (Kizilcukur). Afterwards we take a drive to explore the mulitple fairy chimneys that have been shaped by centuries of erosion in the Pasabaglari Valley. This afternoon you will mingle with the locals and view their local handcrafted potery. Overnight Cappadocia.
Day 5: Cappadocia - Konya
If you are interested take a hot-air Balloon ride over the moonscape this morning (booked and paid locally). If not enjoy a nice sleep in. We say good bye to Cappodocia and drive to the underground town of Derinkuyu. After exploring this town the labyrinth town of Derinkuyu we push on to the slopes of Mount Hasan a volcanoe responsible for Cappadocia's landscape. Later we continue on to the town of Konya. Please note that Konya is a very religious town, so we suggest you dress conservatively while you are here. Overnight Konya.
Day 6: Konya - Pamukkale
Today we drive to Pamukkale and upon arrival visit the ancient Hierapolis which has the biggest Nekropol with 1200 gravestones in Anatolia. The sacred pool also is one of the highlights of the site. There shallow thermal waters ripple over a wonderful scattering of ancient roman ruins that lie beneath, graveyard and the lime cascade. Overnight Pamukkale.
Day 7: Pamukkale - Selcuk
An early start this morning as we say good bye to the "Cotton Castle" and drive to Selcuk to explore Ephesus. Ephesus is possibly the best Greco-Roman site in the world and rightly named one of the original seven wonders of teh ancient world, and definitely a highlight of your trip. Overnight Selcuk.
Day 8: Selcuk - Canakkale
We travel to Canakkale and the Gallipoli region en route to stope to admire the ruins of the fabled city of Troy. Here you can see the a replica of the famous horse that the Greeks hide in to gain entry to the city. Later we continue onto Canakkale and spend the rest of the at leisure exporing the town. Overnight Canakkale.
Day 9: Canakkale - Istanbul
Today we will drive to Gallipoli and explore the WW1 battlefields on Gallipoli Peninsular and enjoy a guided tour of the evocative war memorials that dot the region, for example: Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair, Johnston’s Jolly, battlefields, trenches and Kabatepe - the modest ANZAC museum. Afterwards we head back to Istanbul where we started this adventure. Overnight Istanbul.
Day 10: Istanbul
Enjoy a morning at leisure picking up those last minute Turkish souvenirs before being transferred to the Airport for your departure flight to Athens. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the night at your leisure. Overnight Athens.
Day 11:
ATHENS - CRETE Take a short flight to the island of Crete the larges and most southerly of teh Greek Islands. Enjoy a walking tour of the old town and discover why Hania is called the "Jewel of Crete". Airotel hotel
Day 12:
CRETE We leave early this morning for the Hill Village of Agia Irini located 600m above sea level. Here we take in the diverisity of landscape, from spectacular mountains to dense forests giving way to uninterrupted coast lines. We continue to Sougia a perfect place to relax and have a swim or lay by the beach after our adventures today. has already brought. Overnight Crete. Halepa hotel
Day 14:
CRETE - SANTORINI Today say goodbye to Crete as you board ferry to the island that is Santorini. Upon arrival you will be met by our local represtentatives and transferred your hotel. Spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight Santorini. Finikias Hotel
Day 15:
SANTORINI We Embark on a walking tour of Santorini's legendary caldera. The Island of Santorini is all that remains from a massive volcanic eruption. The walk begins from Oia (La) ans we walkin on the rim of the caldera. We finish the tour in the town of Thira where we will visit the Prehistoric Museum. Spend the rest of the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight Santorini. Finikias Hotel
Day 16:
SANTORINI Today is free to sit by the beach and relax. Or go exploring the island on your own. Overnight Santorini. Finikias Hotel
Day 17:
SANTORINI - MYKONOS This morning we wave good bye to Santorini as your board the ferry to Mykonos. Considered the most glamorous and cosmopolitan of teh Cycladi Islands. Upon arrival you will be my by our local representatives and transferred to you hotel. Spend the rest of the Day at your leisure. Overnight Mykonos. Elena Hotel
Day 18:
Today we embark on an excursion to the island of Delos. Delos has a vast and interesting history and it is one of the most important sites of archaeology in Greece and new discoveries of ancients finds are still made from time to time. We explore the site in-depth and gain an insight into this sacred island's intriguing history. In the afternoon, we take a return ferry back to Mykonos. Overnight Mykonos. Elena Hotel
Day 20:
After a leisurely morning, we and transfer to the Mykonos port for our ferry across the Aegean back to Athens. Upon arrival at Pireaus port, we transfer to our centrally located hotel in Athens. The remainder of the day is free. As tonight is our last evening together, we might like come together for a final dinner. Our leader will be able to offer suggestions on the best places in Athens to dine. Airotel Hotel
