Day 1: Istanbul

Welcome to Turkey and the start of your holiday. Our local representative will greet you at the Airport and assist with the transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax or explore the local area.

Day 2: Istanbul

After breakfast, enjoy a full day guided tour of Istanbul which includes St. Sophia, the cathedral built by Emperor Justinian in 537 and was the largest church in Christendom for a thousand years, the Byzantine Hippodrome with its various monuments including a 3500-year-old red granite obelisk brought from Egypt and erected here in 390 AD. The Ottoman Empire produced marvellous architecture and you'll see two of its finest works: Basilica Cistern - also know as Yerebatan Sarayı or Sunken Palace, and the famed Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet I. After all these visits, you'll venture into the labyrinthine that is the Grand Bazaar.

Day 3: Istanbul

Today is free to explore Istanbul at your leisure.

Day 4: Istanbul - Cappadocia

Its an early start this morning for breakfast and transfer to the airport for your flight to Kayseri and onward transfer to Cappadocia. After hotel check in, you are free to explore your hotel and surrounding area.

Day 5: Cappadocia

In the morning, enjoy your first meeting with the lunar landscape of Cappadocia: rock formations beyond belief in Devrent valley, walking in Pasabag near Zelve, and see the fairy chimneys where the voice of the wind mixes with the 'songs of fairies'. We then continue to Avanos, the centre of terracotta work of art since 3000 BC. This afternoon, visit the famous Goreme Open Air Museum and see the best examples of Byzantine art in rock-cut churches with frescoes and paintings. Continuing to the Uchisar Rock-Castle, enjoy the panoramic view of the valleys of Cappadocia, the perfect location for photo's.

Day 6: Cappadocia

After breakfast, we visit Kaymaklı Underground City, one of the most interesting underground settlements in Cappadocia. Soğanlı Valley, an Open Air Museum in a wild natural setting, is a typical Cappadocian village with its different style Rock-Cut churches and frescoes. The villages in the valleys, surrounded by the table top mountains, are spectacular. We next visit Sahinefendi (Sobesos), newly discovered (01 May02) mosaic houses and Archaeological excavation site, and Keslik Monastery near Cemil which hides it’s frescoes behind a very thin smoke layer and we can only see by torch light. Our tour finishes with a visit to Mustafapaşa (Sinasos), an old Greek town with its spectacular houses, very fine examples of late Greek settlements and architecture.

Day 7: Cappadocia

Today we drive to Ihlara and enjoy walking thought Ihlara Canyon, a mirage in the Steps of Anatolia up to Belisirma village, the ancient Peristrema,'Valley of the Sky' and along the Melendiz River. Rock-cut churches spread across a wild plantation and surprise you with their successfully painted representations from the Bible. We drive onto Belisirma and stop by Selime, a village with cave houses at the end of the canyon and a 'star war' like landscape.

Day 8: Cappadocia - Pamukkale

Today we have an early departure for Pamukkale. On the way, we have a quick visit the 13th century Seljukian masterpiece Sultanhan Caravanserai before continuing onto Pamukkale for an overnight stay at the Ayapam Hotel.

Day 9: Pamukkale - Fethiye

This morning is free for you to explore the Hierapolis and pools. Later this afternoon we will transfer you to the hotel at Gocek, a pretty coastal town with its lovely harbour and a unique setting due to the strict development laws. You will be staying at the Forest Gate Hotel.

Day 10: Fethiye

Free day at your leisure.

Day 11: Fethiye

Free day at your leisure.

Day 12: Fethiye

Today you bid farewell to Turkey. After breakfast and hotel check out, we will transfer you to the airport in Dalaman for your flight home.
