Today our guided sightseeing starts with St. Sophia the cathedral built by Emperor Justinian in 537 and the Byzantine Hippodrome with its various monuments. The Ottoman Empire produced marvelous architecture and you'll see two of its finest works: Topkapi Palace and the famed Blue Mosque of Sultan Ahmet I. After this, you'll venture into the labyrinthine Grand Bazaar. Optional dinner with a Turkish show is available tonight.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Ankara. Upon arrival visit Anatolian Civilizations Museum with its numerous exhibits from many ages, Stone Age, Neolithic Age and Hittites to name a few; Citadel of Ankara and the Mausoleum of Attaturk, the burial place of the national hero. After a picturesque trip along the Salt Lake, we will arrive in Cappadocia.
Early in the morning an optional Balloon tour is available. After breakfast you will taken on a full day tour in Cappadocia including the Kaymakli Underground City, Open Air Museum in Goreme to see the best examples of Byzantine art in Cappadocia in rock-cut churches and the natural fortress in Uchisar, where we will discover the rich history behind hand-made carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and potteries.
Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Izmir. Upon arrival transfer to youır hotel in Kusadasi. Remainder of the day is at leisure.
Morning drive to Ancient city of Ephesus where you will explore some of the best preserved theatres, fountains and buildings in the world. A definite must while in Turkey. Then visit to the House of Mother Mary where she is supposed to spend her last years together with St. John. In the afternoon you will have free time to enjoy Kusadasi.
