Arrive Istanbul and transfer to our hotel. Istanbul is easy to get around on foot and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes dotted about the city. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight - Istanbul
This morning you set off for a city tour of the old part of Istanbul, once known as the great city of Constantinople. You will visit the Byzantine Hagia Sofya with its massive main dome that dominates the area. Topkapi Palace located on the tip of the old city and commanding extraordinary views over the water was once the seat of parliament for the Ottoman regime. And of course a visit to Istanbul would not be complete without a visit to the world renowned Blue Mosque. Construction began in 1609 and the name ‘Blue Mosque’ is derived from the over 20 000 blue Iznik tiles adorning the walls of the interior. Later today you will be transferred to the airport for your domestic flight to Cappadocia Overnight - Cappoadocia
This morning you have the opportunity to take part in an optional hot air balloon ride over the splendid scenery of Cappadocia. Over time the soft rock of the area has been shaped and eroded by water and wind creating chimney like pillars, table mountains, great canyons and castle shaped rocks. A little later you will take a full day tour of Cappadocia including a visit to the warren like underground city of Kaymakli where ancient inhabitants once resided, the Open-Air Museum in Goreme with its beautiful frescoes of the rock-cut churches and the natural fortress in Uchisar. Later today you will have the chance to discover the rich history of local handicrafts such as Turkish carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and potteries.
This morning you are transferred back to the airport for your domestic flight down to Dalaman airport. Upon arrival you will visit the lakeside town of Koycegiz, we embark upon a boat cruise to Turtle Beach and smother ourselves in mud at the local mud bath. We continue our journey to Fethiye, a charming port town on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, fringed by the Taurus Mountains where we'll spend the next two nights. Overnight - Fethiye
Today join us in cruising the Med on our 12 island boat cruise. Overnight Fethiye.
Driving North, we arrive at Pamukkale - home of the famous gleaming white calcium terraced pools. Known locally as the Cotton Castles, they are a natural phenomena and gift of Mother Nature. Pamukkale was formed when warm, calcium rich mineral water cascaded over the cliff edge, cooling and depositing in the process. The calcium built natural shelves and pools on the cliffs, known as travertines. Take a barefoot walk along the traverines or opt for a dip in the warm waters of the Pamukkale Thermal pool, with its submerged fragments of fluted marble columns. Our last stop for the day is the ruined spa town of Hierapolis, famed for the curative powers of mineral springs, dammed to create communal baths. Overnight - Pamukkale
Leaving the Travertine terrace formations at Pamukkale you will travel by road to the town of Kusadasi, a resort town on Turkey's Aegean coast and the center of the seaside district of the same name in Aydın Province. Enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight Kusadasi.
