Day 7: Istanbul
Today you will enjoy a full day guided tour of Istanbul. You will visit the Blue Mosque, The Topkapı Palace, Aya Sophia, Roman Hippodrome and the Grand Bazaar which includes over 4000 shops! The Blue Mosque is so named due to the blue tiles that line the walls.
Day 8: Istanbul
Today, enjoy a visit to the Egyptian Spice market (stock up on bargain saffron, spices and Turkish delight here!) before enjoying a cruise on the Bosphorus, the body of water that separate European from Asian Istanbul. En route a visit is made to Rumeli Fortress, built in just 4 months in 1452 by Mehmet the Conqueror in preparation of his planned siege of Byzantine Constantinople. Enjoy lunch. Later, a visit to Beyerbeyi Palace in all its sultanate splendour and a chance to take in stunning views atop the city’s highest point - Buyuk Camlica. Remains of day free
Day 9: Istanbul
Today we will take you on a day trip to the Princes Islands, 20km southeast of Istanbul.
Day 10: Istanbul - Canakkale
Today we drive to Canakkale. This afternoon, offers free time for you to relax or independently explore the Canakkale region. Consider heading down to the seaside to watch the local fishing boats and traders go about the day, visit the local museum, take coffee at one of the many al fresco cafes or enjoy a stroll along the beachfront adjoining our hotel looking out upon the Dardanelles.
Day 11: Canakkale
Today we will drive to Gallipoli and explore the WW1 battlefields on Gallipoli Peninsular and enjoy a guided tour of the evocative war memorials that dot the region, for example: Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair, Johnston’s Jolly, battlefields, trenches and Kabatepe - the modest ANZAC museum.
Day 12: Canakkale - Kusadasi
At Troy (inspiration for Homer's Illiad and much more recently the movie Troy) we visit the Trojan Horse and ruins. We enjoy a guided tour of the ancient city that dates back to 3000BC! En route to Kusadasi, we explore the ruins of Pergamum with it's impressive temples, library and medical facilities which made it a famous cultural and political centre of it's time.
Day 13: Kusadasi
Today you will enjoy a full day tour of Ephesus. This classical city is extremely well preserved. Ephesus is a sacred site for Christians due to the association with several biblical figures, including St. Paul, and the Virgin Mary. Some highlights within the Old Graeco Roman City include house of Virgin Mary and The Basilica of St John.
Day 21: Fethiye
Today we visit the stunningly beautiful Saklikent Gorge, Turkey's longest and deepest canyon, where you'll have the chance to go tubing down the icy mountain stream.
Day 22: Fethiye
Dalyan and Caunos are generally considered two of the most striking spots in this area. Arriving first at the tiny village of Dalyan by coach, you will board a motorboat that will take you down the river´s winding canals and through a maze of reeds on the Dalyan Riverdelta. During your journey down the river, you will see the famous temple-tombs of the ancient kings carved into the rocky cliffs before arriving in ancient Caunos. After lunch we return to Fethiye.
Days 23-26: Fethiye
Morning drive to Kayakoy an abandoned Greek village known as Ghost Village because of its history. There are 3500 old, damaged buildings in the village that is settled on a hill. It's the most beautiful and the biggest open air museum in the world. Walk through the mysterious street of the town and continue to rock–cut tombs of the ancient kings. You have a chance to discover a different world. You will also see the real village life. Return back to your hotel.
Day 27: Fethiye - Antalya
Today you will be transferred to Antalya where you will stay in the old town for 2 nights.
Day 28: Antalya
Today we take a short tour of of Phaselis, a coastal ancient city. Founded by Greek colonists, its wealth came from being a port for the shipment of timber, rose oil and perfume. Shaded by soughing pines, the ruins of Phaselis are arranged around three small perfect bays, each with its own diminutive beach.
Day 29: Antalya
Today you will enjoy a lazy yacht cruise along turquoise coast of the Mediterranean.
Day 31: Cappadocia
Whole troglodyte villages, subterranean churches and fortresses hewn from the soft, eroded volcanic rock have made Cappadocia one of Turkey’s finest attractions. Guided tour of the Goreme Valley, Zelve with its phallic-like eroded landscape of so-called ‘fairy chimneys’ and notable rock formations within the region.
Day 32: Cappadocia
Today you will enjoy a second day of sightseeing of the Cappadocia region. Today you will enjoy a trek through the wildly beautiful Ihlara Valley and explore Derinkuyu underground city.
Day 36: Istanbul
Today after breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your departing flight.
