Welcome to Turkey! On Arrival in Istanbul you will be met at the airport by our representative and transferred to you hotel. The rest of the day is yours free to explore. Tonight we enjoy a traditional folk law show to experience Istanbul by Night!
This morning after breakfast we drive to Gallipoli. On the 25 April, 1915, British, Australian, New Zealand and allied troops landed on Gallipoli at what is now known as ANZAC Cove. Whilst the Allies were forced to advance inland up and over the steep cliffs, Mustafa Kemal (Atatürk) had foreseen the landing here and sent his Turkish troops here to do ferocious battle with the partly unsuspecting Allies. Both Allied and Turkish troops fought desperately and gallantly, slaughtering one another in vast numbers. After nine months of of battle the Allied forces were withdrawn in January 1916. Today we tour Anzac Cove, Nek, Conik Bair, Lone Pine and the 57th Regiment memorial before we return to Istanbul.
After breakfast we will drive to Eminönü to visit the aromatic Spice Bazaar, where the smells of cinnamon, cloves and thyme, rise from hundreds of colourful muslin bags at every store-front. Here we enjoy a Bosphorus Cruise; through the waterway separating the two continents: Europe and Asia! Here we have the chance to take beautiful photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture mingled amoungst modern residentials and luxurious apartments.
Today our arrangements end with a departure transfer to the airport for your ongoing flight and great memories of the beautiful city of Istanbul and moving memories of Gallipoli.
