Amman's old city walls

Day 1: Amman - Petra

Welcome to Jordan and the start of your adventure with On The Go Tours. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Petra, the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2: Petra

Begin the day with a walk through the mysterious mile-long Siq, the narrow gorge with towering sandstone walls which leads into the ancient capital city of the Nabatean trading empire. Explore the Khazneh (the temple of Indiana Jones fame), Theater, Colonnaded Street and Museum. After lunch, climb to ad-Deir (the Monastery), Petra’s largest carved façade.

Day 3: Petra - Dead Sea

This morning we will drive to Bethany where you will have a full tour with an expert guide. Later today you will drive on to the Dead Sea where you will experience the wonders of this interesting place. The remainder of the evening you will have at your leisure.

This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for you onward flight to

Day 14: - Istanbul

Upon your arrival, you will be met by our representative before transfer to your Hotel. Spend the rest of the day at your own leisure .

Day 15: Istanbul

After breakfast at hotel we begin full day sightseeing tour of Istanbul. This will include visits to the Topkapi Palace, Roman Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Covered Bazaar.

Day 16: Istanbul - Izmir

After breakfast in the hotel we will transfer you to the airport for your flight to Izmir. Upon your arrival you'll be met by your guide and drive to Pergamon. We will visit Acropolis . We will see the excellent public buildings and monuments as celebrated Library, the steepest theater of Anatolia, the Temples of Trojan and Dionysos, the place of the monumental Altar of Zeus famous with the relief of God and devils, the Sanctuary of Demeter, the Gymnasium situated on terraces and the lower Agora. The we will also see Asclepion ; which is a famed ancient medical center built in honor of Asklepios, the god of healing and it was also the world's first psychiatric hospital. You will alse see the Red Basilica and after lunch continue on to Thyatira.

Day 17: Izmir - Pamukkale

After breakfast drive to Ephesus Ancient City. Enter through the Magnesia Gate and begin a slow, downhill walk into the ruins of this Roman provincial capital. Your route takes you past the Odeon, the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, the Fountain of Trajan and the Great Theater. The theater had seating for 24,000, which was the site where it is believed St. Paul preached to the Ephesians and is used today for a local spring festival.Then continue to House of Virgin Mary. The Vatican has recognized this small house in the Solmissos Mountains as the final resting place of the Virgin Mary. A small shrine dedicated to St. Mary was found when the ruins of the house were first discovered. After tour drive to Pamukkale for overnight.

Day 18: Pamukkale - Izmir

After breakfast visit the ancient roman city Hierapolis and travertines. Then, visit to Laodicea, the location of one of the Seven Churches. Proceed to Philadelphia ; the city of brotherly love, founded during the reign of Attalus II and a city that was also the site of one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. Finally we will see Sardis, the capital of ancient Lydia which also ranked as one of the Seven Sister Churches and as a center of importance for various religious groups. Here we visit the temple of Cybele and Diana (which later became a church), the beautiful synagogue, and the gymnasium.

Day 19: Izmir

Today you will be transferred back to the airport for you onward flight to Istanbul.
