Day 3: Istanbul

Morning at leisure. This afternoon we hone our bargaining skills at the Egyptian Spice market and Grand Bazaar. Tonight, we enjoy a traditional Turkish dinner at a well known waterfront restaurant.

Day 4: Istanbul

Day at leisure to relax or explore.

Day 5: Istanbul - Canakkale

This morning we depart and drive to the WW1 battlefields on the Gallipoli Peninsular. This afternoon we walk in the Anzacs footsteps and tour ANZAC Cove, Lone Pine Australian Memorial, Chunuk Bair New Zealand Memorial, Johnston’s Jolly, the trenches and the new ANZAC museum with a picnic lunch. Day 6: Canakkale

Sailing the coastline on a local fishing boat we view ANZAC Cove and the rugged cliff face seeing it as our brave young soldiers did. On board, we’ll enjoy a picnic lunch of fresh fish, local cheese and olives from the region. Afterward, we venture to Hill 971, the highest point of the Sari Bair Ridge. It was the objective of the 4th Infantry Brigade to seize the high ground between Hill 971 and Chunuk Bair in order to secure a drive across the peninsula to capture the forts guarding the Straits. Onward to Scrubby Knoll and if time permits we may visit the small fishing village of Kilitbahir. Overnight Manici Kasri SPC (Deluxe room)

Day 7: Canakkale - Sirince

Today, we cross the Dardanelles by ferry and continue to Troy. The legend of the lost city and Homer’s ‘The Iliad’ was bought alive by its rediscovery in 1863. Subsequent excavations revealed nine ancient cities, one on top of the other, dating back to 3000 BC. We enjoy a tour of the ruins and view a replica of the stoic Trojan wooden horse. Continue to Kusadasi and visit ancient city of Acropolis on the top Pergmon. Arrive Sirince in the late afternoon. Overnight Nisanyan Evleri (Cottage House)

Day 8: Sirince

Today we enjoy a full days tour of Ephesus and Virgin Mary’s House. First, visit the ruins of the Temple of Artemis, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Then proceed to the Ancient City of Ephesus where you will explore some of the best preserved theatres, fountains and buildings in the world. A definite must while in Turkey. Then visit to the House of the Mother Mary where she is supposed to have spent her last years together with St. John. Overnight Nisanyan Evleri (Cottage House)

Day 9: Sirince

Day at leisure in Sirince. Here you will be able to experience one of the most beautiful villages in Turkey. Enjoy shopping and taste local wines of the village. Overnight Nisanyan Evleri (Cottage House)

Day 10: Sirince - Pamukkale

After breakfast we drive to Pamukkale which is the center of the natural thermal spring waters with healing properties. Due to the chemical properties in the water, pure white colored travertines and stepped water terraces have been created on the mountain slope. We then visit the travertines and the ancient city of Hierapolis which has the biggest Nekropol with 1200 gravestones in Anatolia. The sacred pool also is one of the highlights of the site. There shallow thermal waters ripple over a wonderful scattering of ancient roman ruins that lie beneath. Overnight Thermal Collosea (Suite room)

Day 11: Pamukkale - Cappadocia

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Kayseri. Upon arrival transfer to your hotel where you will enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight Cave Resort SPC/DLX Cave (deluxe room)

Day 12: Cappadocia

Today we take a drive to Avanos where you will see Kizilirmak, the longest river in Turkey before visiting Kaymakli undeground city where early Christians hid from their persecutors and then Zelve. At Tursan you will have the opportunity to sample several different wines from the region. Dinner tonight is at a unique cave restaurant. Overnight Cave Resort SPC/DLX Cave (deluxe room)

Day 13: Cappadocia

Early this we enjoy a morning balloon ride over the unique landscape, followed by a full day excursion to visit more of Cappadocia - Pasabag, the open‐air museum in Goreme showcasing Byzantine art, and the natural fortress at Uchisar to view hand‐made carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and local pottery. Day 15: Cappadocia - Istanbul

Today you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, transferred to your hotel.

Today we bid you farewell with a departure airport transfer in time to meet your onward flight.
