Good morning Vietnam! Upon arrival at Hanoi Airport you will be met and transferred to your city centre hotel. Known as the ‘Paris of the Orient’, Hanoi is the charming capital and cultural heart of Vietnam. Spend the remains of the day at leisure.
Today visit the Temple of Literature – the first university of Vietnam built in 11th century which reveals the Vietnamese spirit of study in the past! Following is a visit to The Presidential Palace (formerly Palace of the Governor-General of French Indochina), Ho Chi Minh’s house-on-stilt and nearby One Pillar Pagoda. We continue our drive out of the city centre for a special lunch. It's a cooking demonstration at a local house. The Chef will show us how to prepare rolled rice pancake and Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). We then visit the Vietnam History museum, Hanoi Opera House and Old Quarter Cyclo tour.
The train pulls into Lao Cai at approximately 06:00am this morning, transfer to Sapa for breakfast. Located 1500m above sea level, Sapa is a former French hill station, nestled in the rugged Tonkinese Alps and surrounded by lush valleys and verdant rice paddy fields. This morning take a light trek to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, Ta Van and Cau May. Walking to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, you meet some of the local ethnic minority people on their way to and from Sapa. These minority people, including the Red Zao, Hmong and Tay people, walk to Sapa to trade at the markets. Tonight you spend the night at the hotel in Sapa town.
Start your morning with a hike to a beautiful waterfall before continuing on to a picturesque Red Dao village. Red Dao women wear giant red scarves around their heads and their clothing is embellished with colourful red embroidery and coins. Spend the afternoon at leisure in Sapa before returning to Lao Cai to board the overnight train back to Hanoi. Overnight - Sleeper Train (4 berth shared cabin) .
Upon arrival at Hanoi Station, you will be taken to a local restaurant for breakfast. After breakfast, get the transfer to Halong city. Check-in at our private cruise center in Tuan Chau and embark on Hai Long boat and enjoy a welcome drink Set-lunch is served aboard while boat is cruising towards Da Chong islet, passing the Vung Dai, Ba Cua, Cay Tao (Apple Tree), Con Vit (Duck) Islets and Gia Luan of Cat Ba Island You will then Visit the Sung Sot (Surprise) Cave. Then enjoy swimming on Titop or Soi Sim beach. Cruise through the Bay to an overnight anchorage near Ho Dong Tien or Trong Cave Have Set-dinner is served on board and retire to your cabin or join squid fishing program (weather permitting)
Continental breakfast is served on board before you take Transfer to day-trip boat passing by fishing village (Van Gia or Vung Vieng). Continue cruising to Ho Ba Ham area. Swim or kayak with guide at Ho Ba Ham Lunch is served and then you will Continue to discover Ho Ba Ham area. Cruise to Ho Dong Tien or Trong Cave. Transfer back to Hai Long overnight boat. Set-dinner is served on board and retire to your cabin or jig for squid
Light breakfast is served on board. The boat weighs anchor to cruise through the Bay to Luon cave, passing beautiful spots like Dau Nguoi (Man Head) and Con Rua (Tortoise) Islets, etc. Transfer to a rowing boat to explore Luon Cave before return to Hai Long boat and then cruises leisurely back to harbor passing Ngon Tay (Fingers), Ga Choi (Fighting Cocks), Lu Huong (Incense Burner), Ba Hang, Con Cho Da (Stone Dog) Islets. 10.00 at last, the brunch is served on board. You will check out then disembark at the harbor of Tuan Chau Island Transfer back to Hanoi airport for your flight to Danang. Upon arrival in Danang, you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An.
Today enjoy a full day tour which gives you an insight into the lives of the farming and fishing communities in this beautiful region of Vietnam. After a short transfer you will arrive at the village of Tra Que. This charming little settlement, on the edge of Hoi An, is famous for its sweet scented green vegetables. Continue with a walk around the vegetable garden and join the farmers in preparing the land and planting some crops. Finish off your village experience with a fun cooking demonstration. This afternoon enjoy a half day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Assembly Hall, 200-year-old Tam Ky house and the Japanese Covered Bridge.
Transfer to the airport in Danang and fly to the coastal resort of Nha Trang. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the remains of the day at leisure. Nha Trang is a popular coastal resort in central Vietnam, with 7kms of white sandy beach and pristine waters surrounded by archipelagoes and mountains.
A day of leisure and indulgence as we cruise through blue clear waters amongst the islands off Nha Trang. We take drive to Cau Da port where we will embark on our boat. We cruise to visit the Tri Nguyen Aquarium, a small world of many sea species of local province at Mieu Island. We will then head out to Mun Island where you have the chance for swimming and optional snorkeling in the crystal clear waters. Lunch stop is at the fishing village of Lang Chai where there is time to explore further before boarding the boat back to Nha Trang harbor.
In the morning on day 14, transfer to the airport and fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Spend the remains of the day at leisure in this lively and cosmopolitan metropolis with its gleaming sky scrapers, expensive restaurants, bars and designer shops, which stand in stark contrast to the ancient pagodas, colonial era landmarks and ramshackle markets.
Take a morning excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels, north west of the city. This immense network of connecting underground tunnels, were used by the Viet Cong and one of the famous battle grounds in the Vietnam War. Watch a short introductory video on the construction of the tunnels before exploring the maze of tunnels, accompanied by the guide. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500-pound bombs from B52 bombers. Returning to Ho Chi Minh City stop for lunch before visiting some of the city's major attractions including the Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral and the War Remnants Museum.
Enjoy a full day cruise on the beautiful Mekong Delta, one of the world's greatest river systems. Known as the ‘rice bowl of Vietnam’ the Mekong Delta has lush rice paddy fields and colourful fruit orchards, and bustling floating markets. Phu An where you board the Cai Be Princess at around 10:00am. First stop is the colourful floating market at Cai Be. Then visit some local home factories to discover traditional rice paste making, rice pop corn and longans drying processing. The cruise continues along the Mekong canals to Dong Hoa Hiep Island where you can observe the typical Mekong delta rural life. Lunch at Le Longanier restaurant at La Residence de Phu An Resort, a superb Indochine style resort before disembarking mid-afternoon and returning to Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast and hotel check out, transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
